And familiarity shouldn't allow you ignore everything, even if I'm with them and ♥♥♥♥ hits the fan, how is it all these traps littered everywhere just don't seem to apply to them but they do me. The amount I see around, some unavoidable aka doors (if you are running away into them) but nada. That's not even taking into account how much attention you grab just from running.

I doubt your friend is straight-up ignoring them. The only trap that can be "ignored" is a door trap if you have the Door Trap Breaker amp. Aside from that, every trap has a way around. Floor traps can be jumped over or walked around. Hanging traps can be crouch-walked or slid under. Both of the previous can also usually be avoided by vaulting over an obstacle beside them. Door traps can be ducked under or (if you have time) left alone by slowly opening the door.

If your friend is not dying twice every trial, they know what they're doing and being smart about it.

I prefer things to make sense and have logic, instead it feels like I have to join my friend in rushing around like its call of duty and use stun rig to have an impact at all.

The enemy's behavior has logic, you just haven't had the time to understand it yet. Tell your friend to slow down or play less linear MK-Challenges that encourage you to split up.

Enemies (that aren't the Night Hunter) can't see very far in the dark, but they do have a "sense range" of about two feet in which they will still notice you. Certain enemies with portable light sources like Coyle and the Pitcher can see you from further away.

Enemies will randomly check hiding spots, but they will actively avoid checking hiding spots you're in unless they saw you enter or peek out, you made noise extremely close to it and they heard it, or you brushed against them while peeking.

If you haven't already, go into the game's settings and enable the sound and light indicators so you know for sure when you're making noise and actually in the dark.

If you want an enemy to not stumble across you in the dark and hiding spots are not available, just throw a bottle to the opposite side of the room or outside it entirely.

Doesn't matter the enemy they still show extremely odd behaviours that defy logic, also the bottle is extremely useless unless you have the perk for it. Almost everytime I've distracted with a bottle they turn back around after a second and resume their pathing which often makes bothering with a bottle pointless since I can't move that fast and they catch me trying to move elsewhere. I've had enemies check the hiding spot im in out of the blue quite often with no way of them knowing, its random but stupid. I've had the indicators on since starting playing and monitor them all the time so I know when im in darkness and making noise or not. Thats why this crap is confusing as hell.

As for my friend rushing and running everywhere, it makes no sense, no matter how good you are there are enemies littering the place and disturbing them makes getting to objectives even harder and time consuming. The more people after you the harder its going to be to hide. You can be godly moving about the place but you can't simply not make noise, not to mention stamina is a thing. Higher difficulties also have less hiding spots and theres sometimes something hiding in spots too. Some enemies will go back to their zone and continue their pathing, others roam. Higher difficulties also have more traps and enemies, it is impossible to avoid all these if you are running about.

I don't know what makes a souls game. They are all just Action RPG's to me with a horrible leveling mechanic.
