ok i can't say that I'm an expert, but here's what i feeling when as a newbie
1. lack of positive feedback during gameplay, i know there have some checkpoint levels that aim to let player know when player finished a chapter, but i don't know when i reached that level and there's no any notification tells me i finished a chapter, i don't even know if i didn't or missed to open the checkpoint door, i may can't direct go back there, this issue is huge for beginner, is that really hard to just add some notification to tell the player that chapter progress is saved?;
2. player model issues, no i don't want to discuss the art design, im talking about the model unnatural shaking, feels lagging and cheaper, but i don't know about the animation effects, after all, i don't pay attention to this;
3. UI design, if im not digging to this game, i will never know this is made by unreal engine, i thought this is made by unity engine when i play at the first time, and Most "Really" Early Access unity games similar like that in my mind, improve ui quality
4. chinese localization quality, i have to say they done some help, just some help, translate quality feels cheaper, tbh u can reproduce that translation by using ♥♥♥, im not lying

and optional feedback
1. i agree remove Moth Jelly tricks and Bunny Hop, but pls add more stamina in general;
2. decrease sanity cost in general, and critical sanity warning should little more early than currently threshold (for example, if previous is 10%, then add to 15%)
3. allow sprint from every direction, and reduce the stiffness time when standing up from crouching
4. due to section 2 and 3, if really need a drawback: when the character is not in the "level !", the panic effect should only effective decrease stamina cost to increase sprint duration, after panic effect ends, it will force the character to rest until stamina fully recovered or rest of 5 secs

Alright, don't burn me at the stake here but i do like this feature. Reminiscent of pulse in older surviaval horror games : you can quickly tell *roughly* how much health you have at the glance, but not exact amount.

It's a fair point, though you have plenty of other way of doing this kind of feedback.
- The heroin pants heavily when damaged which is an audio feedback.
- Oil/Blood/Burn marks could be dedicated to HP visual feedbacks.

There are a lot of h-games who only "rewards" the player with ero scenes when losing or playing poorly, which is in my opinion poor game design.

Um, I'm not really sure how to say it, but for the longest time, I've had some jerky movement with the mouse when playing this game, and panning left and right, it would seem jerky. Pretty sure I've not applied this fix, but the fix says that removes input damping???? Isn't that what's supposed to smooth out jerky movement? Wouldn't applying this fix make it worse? What does the FOV-dependent sensitivity do? Could that also be responsible?? All this time I assumed it was my hardware shortcomings. Could you elaborate?

Honestly, I just use the hex edit as I'm on the dx11 version. I can deal with the crap negative mouse acceleration.

What I can add about AI-behaviour from recent working with scripts for modding purposes:

There are at least two layers of AI control for AI units, more likely three.

Let us take Balzano's attack on the Movement in Abiquiu as an example:

- At the highest level, it consists of giving the marauder units movement orders into their staging area, then it sets their behaviour to aggressive, moves them to a team hostile to the Movement and then gives them a move order into the Movement base. From the looks of it, all of these orders are the exact same they work for the player. Except the AI cannot actually give them, it is scripted to have these orders.

- At the lowest level, the individual soldiers behave like any player unit set to aggressive. They fire on the move, only stop when they go prone and upon reaching their destination, seek out enemy units to kill within vision.

- BUT there are things AI units do without needing to be ordered. Like launching smoke against incoming missiles, repairing their vehicles or (re-)crewing abandoned vehicles. Those orders can be given in the script but the units will perform them regardless. In this area, the AI's units are indeed treated differently from ours. The AI is very script-heavy, so it needs additional automatic actions baked into the units to keep up.


What exactly governs their behaviour and which data the game uses to trigger it I do not know. What I can say for certain is that its not scripted with the mission-level AI orders.

Cause when it comes to make a choice between your niche game at 60 bucks and the very famous game at 40 bucks, most new players are of course going to go for the second choice.
