Architects are a late game powerhouse and basically get nothing early game until they starts building monuments, with a soft cap on unlimited scaling via Monuments and Effigies built in City Domains. If they're allowed to build Affinity Incarnate to high levels they will be a BIG problem.

You need to be really careful and understand what their units do too if they have some good incarnate rank, especially Guardians (try not to attack those guys in melee or get close to them period unless highly buffed):


Guardians (T2 Shield Unit)

1. Debuffs adjacent enemies' resistance to the Architects main incarnate affinity channel per stack. Going up to like -4 to -10+ in said resist debuffing. That + all Incarnate units having +4 to +10 damage is gonna hurt big time.

2. They have first strike AND they have a feature called "Incarnate Retaliation" in addition to debuff, which does extra damage based off incarnate stacks whenever attacked by the enemy (you).

This and say Elysium Race + high Order incarnate can devastate your melee with OP spirit retaliation for example. When playing architect with lots of support sustain you can literally just end Guadians' turns in Defensive Mode in a Phalanx formation around squishies, and the enemy will just kill themselves attacking them while you pepper them with Shademakers and Earthbreakers DPS.


Shademakers (T2 Archer)

They do extraordinary damage to Large targets and have great damage based off incarnate ranks. They have a good AoE Weaken that multiple shades can stack up quite high making your units hit like we noodles. Adding in high damaging enchantments (Mighty Meek + Legions of Zeal with Condemn debuff for example) + Incarnate and +40% damage vs large = instant death T5 Large Mythics. lol


Earthbreaker (T1 Shock Unit)

Earthbreakers are super dangerous T1 if they get high incarnate because their health will slace up 10 I think per point (to 40-100 extra health or more mid late game). They ALSO go into defensive mode each turn because they do so by default with attack. That means they will apply Precognition with new circlet enchantment always if allows to go into defensive mode. Combine with Grace (Blessed Armour enchantment etc.) and stat bloat from buffs and you're ♥♥♥♥♥♥ lol. Unlike early game their sweep attacks will really hurt as the low damage attacks gets juiced by high incarnate levels and hits multiple targets at once. Then if it has Knightly Order upgrade from Order tree it also Stuns.


Lastly one of their starting spells is a AoE buff that gives buffs based on incornate level to defence, resist etc etc. making it almost impossible to kill those units. Architect spells are really cheap too.



So what you need to so is A) Kill Architects early, or don't let them expand, or make alliances with them and B) Take them out of Defensive Moded and mind contorl/CC/debuff them.
