Usually you learn the lore by playing the game, they'll tell you who the girl was, don't worry.

As for TT it doesn't really have much lore around it, it's just a game in the world with a few obsessive geeks npcs. I don't think you ever learn where it came from or how the cards were made.

But for some reason the cards hold magical attributes that can make extremely powerful relics and items like holy war.

Oh and op the intro is just foreshadowing of things to come, the duel was in a controlled environment. All the stuff with the witch and the pretty girl is just foreshadowing. 8 is one of my fav FF's I think you picked the right one as it was my first one and got me into the series. Just remember that the intro is just an intro and only there to say that, seifer manipulated squall into a training fight. Seifer took it to far, squall got cut, squall got mad and cut seifer back. Why squall ends up in med room. All the rest of it, the ocean, the girls, the music, all just foreshadowing the only thing that really happened was the duel.

The level of the skill is tied to the ilevel of the staff. You need a ilevel 90 staff to get a lv 20 skill on it.

The auto leveling with the character level works for martial weapons only, caster weapons (wand, staff, scepter) have their sockets and skill level tied to the item itself.

So if you want a better skill level, you need to equip a better staff.

It's that way because contrary to martial weapons, caster weapons don't have implicit damage values (since spells don't use weapon damage, they have their own base damage, that's the main difference between attack and spell types), so if the skill leveled with your character, a level 1 staff would give you a skill that cost no mana with a steady increase of damage each level up.
Whereas with a martial weapon, even with the level up increase, since the base damage is the implicit weapon damage, a level 1 weapon that does 1-6 damage will never give you tens of thousands of damage even at lv 90, but a lv 1 staff would if it was not tied to the item level.

a staff is just a 2 handed wand. It's like a one handed mace and a 2 handed mace, two handed mace has better mods and better damage, but you lose the second hand. The only issue with the staff is that the numbers are not balanced correctly, so a wand+focus is usually better.
But the staff spell is just an auto attack, because weapons have an auto attack, because you need an auto attack on a weapon to... attack in case you get out of mana, it's just there to make the mechanic work.

they just turned the auto attack from staves and wand of poe1 into proper spells so that caster builds have a spell auto attack, and not those hybrid weapons that roll attack and spell mods.

Sims is free ? since when , the very shallow base game is free on Steam now but buy the content to go with it and you better be ready to take out a bank loan , over 2K at full price for everything and in return you get a buggy mess where EA games don't even attempt to fix some long standing bugs and hope mod makers will do it for them to make the game playable

So you get three chests for each convoy. you may get one sail cosmetic out of three to begin with (as sail cosmetics nearly always come first), but when you get the sail cosmetics, then you will just be collecting three chests with tiny amounts of silver out of the event reward chests. You actually get better rewards for sinking a Sea People fishing boat. It's really insulting to the community. How hard would it be to up the reward RNG percentage so that players are guaranteed to get something, and have the enemy NPC's at lvl 18 or something? Give us a challenge that way, instead of taking it down the RNG route.

I want Ubisoft to publish the percentages on chances of getting each of the cosmetic pieces, so all the community can see how much they take liberties with these so-called 'rewards'. I think players need to see just how pointless the event is. The cosmetics are incredibly ugly anyways.

A Lottery as a reward is ridiculous and I say boycott all glory adorned events until they sort the percentages out and remove silver as a "possible reward" from the chests.

When the Wolves Hollow and the Moonshiner events came in, I thought that Ubisoft had changed their ways, as these were fun and rewarding, but the Glory adorned event just shows that Ubisoft's attitude to the game and it's playerbase has not changed at all.
