i mean you dont need to make a heavy rain. plus its not a simulator so it doesnt have to be very accurate.

plenty of movies make up stuff that isnt accurate, even zelda breath of the wild, where he wields his sword on the back, but in reality someone cosplayed it and noticed he cant pull out the sword.

Grounded 2 already establishes some real-life physics limitations. That's why Buggy mounts are in the game; you cannot shrink a car or anything with combustion engines down and expect them to work. In-game, it is explained that combustion engines will not work when shrunk down. This is textbook heat transfer and fluid dynamics. Burning a drop of gas won't produce the work to power a scaled down combustion engine. Then you have fluid dynamics at those scales. Trying to squeeze liquid petrol through tiny combustion engine tubing won't work. Surface tension is an enemy at those scales.

If we have rain in any way, then a heavy fog would be best. Heavy fog has noticeable micro rain droplets that would pass as rain at the small scales the player is at. The heaviest fog is just actually a cumulus cloud at ground level. And clouds are just airborne collections of microdroplets about 0.1 to 0.5mm in size. For a 7mm tall player, those fog droplets would pass as rain droplets.

Yes, making the game a simulation would be boring, but it is best that the designers stay somewhat consistent with real life physics. If they *did* simulate the real world at smaller scales, then fall damage wouldn't exist no matter the height of fall. But they added fall damage for gameplay purposes. In real-life, anything tinier than 1cm will suffer little to no fall damage no matter the height, but Grounded gives your characters and even tiny aphids fall damage.
I love the bit about fall damage, jump height would also be affected irl. I remember the rain scene from Honey I Shrunk the Kids, pretty epic but also pretty chaotic. I don't know if rebuilding my bases after floods and massive raindrop strikes would be fun or not though, I suspect not.
