Edit: the file that crashes the game is called dxgi.dll when removed the game runs fine but sweetfx does not work.

, just doesn't work. For some other games that had dodgy .dll files I could got them off some sites and they work fine now. But the 0x7b error is just flat out unfixable for me.

this kind of error is normally caused by mixing and matching 32bit and 64bit programs. most of the time its windows fault, you open a 32bit filed a 64bit dll version will load.

I'm having the same issue. Running mono Game.exe in a console produces the error:

Every time i start a new game the game crashes. I've looked in event viewer and it says "gameoverlayrenderer.dll" each time "game.exe" has failed. Also i've noticed i can't start the game by going to
game folder and starting game.exe, if i do i get an error "Steam must be running to play this game (SteamAPI-Init() failed." even though i have steam running. I can start the game from my steam game

So with this issue and my plans to mod game later I decided to try something and downloaded from http://fose.silverlock.org/ the script extender and I got an error that explains why games not
launching >_>

Which basically meant "you don't have game for windows live client installed stupid".

So Fallout

C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam directory that started with "GameOverlay". That may be overkill, but just deleting or renaming the dll and associated files didn't work. At least I can play it now.

couple of the other things in the thread. Gothic Starter, and such. I don't run with mods. I still got the error with it. I bet the GOG version doesn't have this issue.

Then I tried to Verify game cache.AND THEN I GOT THIS MESSAGE : 1 File failed to validate and will be reacquired I tried again and got the same message
, then I try to play cs:go it says:an error occurred while updating Counter-Strike:Global Offensive (corrupt update files)

Is any chances to get unban?
I reinstalled my cs:go now its working.
