Hello Goomes! I just wanted to say that I love the work you're doing with the game. My friend and I recently finished the Raid on Area 12, and we loved it. That being said, we have a few constructive criticisms.

The first chapter was great, it captures the apocalyptic setting very well, and gunning down hordes of infected made for a fun experience. The second chapter was a bit different. We love the concept of the cognitohazard SCP, but felt that navigating the level was challenging, with most of our experience manoeuvring around said SCP being trial and error. My suggestions are as follows:

  • Adding contextual clues about the SCP's mechanics before you meet it (for example, bodies facing screens, writing on the wall that says "DON'T LOOK" or "IT CAN SEE YOU" over and over or something.

  • Adding broken screens! This could be helpful if navigating the area solo or with a reduced team (like us lol), with more broken screens appearing the less people there are in a lobby. OR for adding context clues as previously mentioned (showing the player that screens can be broken.)

  • Adding a facility map to your tablet? This one is more optional, but we did spend a long while running around trying to find keycards, which took away form the tension. Perhaps whenever you find a map, it can be added to the tablet for easy referencing in the future.

The third chapter felt pretty good to play, especially with the water rising sequence but I felt some things could be done better. We tended to get lost in the dorm area, looking for the vines/flowers we needed to shoot (see tablet map comment with previous chapter.) In addition, some of the attacking vines were hard to target; which is fine if that's the way it's intended, but it made my shotgun feel next to useless lol. I also feel that the interactions between D-Class and Security can be expanded upon in the prison level, especially with visual storytelling (like the knife in the guard's back as you exit the elevator.) I just feel that it could be grander in scale. For example, a D-Class barricade meant to slow guards has blocked the players path, explosions rocking the facility as Security forces collapse tunnels on top of escapees, or even both factions working together to stop an out of control SCP before turning on each other. Again, just suggestions, it's your story after all :)

Of course, we have a few criticisms regarding gameplay as well (which I'm sure you get a lot of):

  • This goes without saying, but the night vision is atrocious. In areas of total darkness, it doesn't work, and even faint amounts of light are blinding. Consider how night vision works: by amplifying light sources, including IR, and sending the picture back to the user. Some NVG's come equipped with what is essentially an IR flashlight (HINT HINT) that provides that necessary light to operate in total darkness (not sure if adding an IR flashlight to the NVG's in game will work considering my non-existent game designing experience, I'm just throwing an idea out there in the hope that it helps!)

  • Hip firing is a bit awkward, with aiming being a bit "radial", for lack of a better word. While this can be good for corners, it can be a bit frustrating in a firefight, where time and accuracy matter. I suggest making this a feature you can toggle on and off, making the experience more like traditional shooters for those that are more used to it.

  • We tried the bodycam mode, which is an AMAZING concept (of course capitalised on in games like BODYCAM lol), but we felt that the chest cam was often obscured by the arms and weapons of the player character, making it difficult to play the game. Perhaps a helmet/shoulder mounted camera would make the idea a little more feasible instead?

That's all I can think of right now. As I've said before, my friend and I love this game, and we want to see it improve, which is why I'm leaving this comment. I can only imagine the hours you guys put in to making this game as great as possible. Keep up the great work, and I look forward to future updates!
Hello, thanks for leaving your feedback, and glad that you are enjoying the game. To address a few of your questions/comments:

- Chapters 2 and 3 are due to be overhauled and will change up a lot from their current state. We are aware of the pacing/flow not being ideal in certain portions of these, and this will all be reworked to play a lot better. Additionally the screen anomaly SCP will also be reworked.

- NVGs will be receiving a rework as well, it's known (and something I bring up internally semi-often).

- Not sure I understand the hip firing portion. If you are referring to the weapons having a dead zone, there are already settings for this in the menu.

- The bodycam mode was a simple add just for fun for people who want it. I am not sure if it will be touched up as it's not really the intended way to play the game (more so there for the screen effect).

Goomes i have a question. i buy and use SCP5k basic version (cause no other editions was avalible back then) now, i wan;t to get Omni Edition Content. But i can't upgrade my Steam Profile. Can you help me please ?
