Did you watch the video or just go to post? It's like a combo of 1 and 2. base building, sync kills, but also with the cover system

It very much is not, the trailer shows it is clearly inspired by 2 and 3 not the original.

There are no listening posts, critical locations, relics etc. It's just Power nodes and Requisition points like DoW 2 and the base building looks to be extremely limited to the point you'll just build one of each in tech-order and that's it.

The Art style irks me a bit too, boltor projectiles look like yellow plasma guns, explosions have no 'oomphf' behind them and look soft without impact too. It's the same cartoony style that contributed to DoW3s downfall.

Some of the maps shown seem to be missing proper lighting for some reason too, literally no shadows under the dreadnought doing the sync-kill etc.

First of all yes there are listening posts. You can see it on the orcs at 1:23. It's right on the screen.
Also did you forget the requisition and energy nodes are in DoW1? As for critical locations and relics yes you are right those are gone. And honestly thats fine. Having enough captured locations makes up for critical ones. And we don't need relics to restrict what units can be fielded. It can limit players working together as teammates will scramble for who gets the relic and may even try to steal it from each other.

As for building your wrong AGAIN. Look at the orcs screen at 1:22 or 1:23. You quite litterally see 2 of the same building (which aren't highlighted on the map as nodes.) Also your telling me your building 1 waaah banner? You're reaching and looking for things to hate.

Also what caused the downfall of 3 was that it was nothing like the previous 2 games outside of being an rts and being war hammer themed. Oh and the jumping in the air with Terminator armor on. The art style isn't the main thing that pushed people away.
I will agree the bolter rounds feel for visible then they should be but thats minor. I'm neutral on the explosions. They are far more impactful then DoW1 were, but not as much as 2s.

Also if you are talking about the sync kill at 1:29 you can see the shadows for the Dreadnaught. Full screen it it's a pretty big shadow especially when he picks up the orc

wtf no custom character option? Do they even know wtf Vampire is? Here, lets make a game...about a rpg game where people make their own characters....sounds good, lets do it but they can only play this pre-made piece of ♥♥♥♥.... sooo disappointing.

I have a friend on linux who only wants to play multiplayer. Did the patch actually resolve the desync issues proton players were having?
