Developers are not going to continue developing a game if it has a low playerbase. There needs to be a lot more people and a lot more MTX going on to keep this game pumping out updates.

Many more play offline. They just mentioned that they sold over 3 Mil copies, where do you think those people went? Just bought and then ditched? Cmon man; even with the worst stats you could throw, MANY of those people are just playing offline (which is perfectly fine; EHG will make new Contents, charge, and those people will buy.)

People like yourself will have to find a new hobby, as you cant harass devs with "online" #s, as most of their playerbase is offline. Just give it a rest already...

Yet you see several topic ask about them. So it seems you are in the minority when it comes to this. To a few, not having Steam achievements can be a deal breaker. Sorry your ego will not accept that though.

Notably, you use the word 'few' several times in this post.. the MAJORITY do not care, which the Devs care more about and will more readily support. They did say they will get around to it, but its just simply not pressing (and continually crying about it wont make it so).

I hope you're not playing with our feelings. I've spent a lot of time in Rift since the first closed beta test days, and for me it's still a great game with lots of great memories of evenings spent together and people I've met through it, but it's also a game that needs a lot of love to grow again. I hope that you don't just want to continue milking the cash cow, i.e. us players, through further monetization of the content, but that you have a sincere interest in seeing the game grow again and even continue and expand on Trionworlds' original roadmap, which never came to fruition due to a lack of funds and the subsequent downsizing of the dev team. I know it's a lot of work, but there are enough examples of games that have managed to turn things around despite catastrophic recessions and poor development decisions and now boast a large player base. No Man's Sky and Rust are very prominent examples of this.

It would be desirable to have a community post from the developers, community managers, and CEO to show where the journey is headed and what the medium and long-term plans are for Rift. A “keep it up” approach without new content and the endless repetition of season events that have already been done before will not help the game.

I also have no problem with taking out another subscription if the return is in the form of new content (events, raids, dungeons, a continuation of the lore and story, etc.).

I think I speak for many current and former players when I say that if there is an intention to actively continue developing Rift, then quite a few players would come back. But you have to earn that trust back with transparent communication and actions.

I really hope that the idea and intention is to breathe new life into Rift and develop it further. :plat2heart:

A game trying to do everything will just end up doing nothing well.

The flashing white effect on enemy damage will now be disabled as well. This fix is coming today in v1.0.4 hotfix.
