I think it is just hard mode tbh

Even Fromsoft must know by now a ranking system would basically be "who can cheat the hardest"

It's a rank mode to enter ng+++ like versions, not that many cheaters to be an issue ruining the mode, the mode point is extra challenge and matchmaking with an ELO system to stay competitive on that extra difficulty, with these extra aditional 3 relics to power up

I actually came to say at least they are actually listening to the extreme backlash. It's not enough for my tastes currently but if 2.3 continues in this direction, I'll be interested.

Seems to me, it would be a good idea to make a "Sandbox" mode option and a "Story Mode" option, because I actually like the stuff that they removed with this patch.

I have seen a bit of division between the old and new style players as well as what TFP seems to want to do and I really think having these 2 modes would near fix the issues for most people. If they want to lean more into the story, why not have a dedicated mode specifically tailored for just that.
