This is the kind of ♥♥♥♥ I'm talking about that sounds contrarian, borderline trolling. Baldur's Gate 3's literally one of the most critically acclaimed and audience beloved games ever made, and you're perfectly aware of that.

As for your assessment of it being an 'insult' to the franchise for its treatment of two characters -- why is it people like you get so hung up on how someone like Sarevok was handled (which by the way, I think they handled it just fine, Sarevok's 'redemption' in ToB made no sense), and COMPLETELY IGNORE how much they knocked it out of the park with Minsc and Jaheira?

It's not an 'insult to the franchise' just because your own head canon events weren't what the series moved forward with. It doesn't invalidate your playthrough of a 25 year old game, somehow.

The main thing that gets me with their takes is that they’re basically saying “yeah it mogs any competitor but it’s still bad because I don’t like how they handled characters from a 25 year old CRPG that a majority of people haven’t played”.

Like don’t get me wrong, I’m not the biggest fan of how they handled Gorion’s Ward or Viconia, but calling it an insult to the franchise is insane hyperbole. A supermajority of players don’t even know the source material to be insulted, and most that do have made peace with WoTC’s poor writing choices before BG3 was even out.

BG3 was successful because it actually appealed to a wider casual audience such as people that never played a CRPG in their life. I'm included into that category and while I absolutely love BG3 I honestly don't have much of a desire to play the older games and I'm oblivious to any sort of lore inconsistencies or retcons that may be present.

GPU usage high? You should see your CPU usage playing this game. I have a 9800X3D with a 5090 and it's pegged from 70% to 100% usage.

same, worked for a little bit and now its back to crashing on startup

what are your specs as well? and driver version

if you decide to be a melee tank you will need drain weapons even they are a dud they will keep you alive and you will learn the pattern on the distance of that bird and its openings.
