Steam needs to take some responsibility to vet games before they allow them to be sold through this platform. There is way too much abandon-ware and Steam needs to get a handle on this. Many people including myself buy a ton of games. provide valuable feedback and support developers. We deserve better.

Heh. People seem to forget that.
THing is. it's not hard to spot the bad games. Bad games are notoriously self evident to anyone eho has a shred of critical thinking capacity

Overwhelmingly users wanted Valve to get out of the way. And Valve agreed. The overall benefits outweigh the downsides.

Not to mention the dev/pubs who basically had their livelihood held to ransom by that bottleneck.

It doesn't really seem like a problem to me. Abandoned games and shovelware get very visible negative reviews, people don't buy them, they fade away into obscurity. So the only argument then becomes one of tidiness, or maybe authoritarian "I think it ought to be how I want it". And I say no thanks to that.

It's not even about tidiness because as you say they don't really show up unless you go digging for them

And this is where the crux of the issue lays i think.
If you're looking for good games on steam you'll find them easy enough.
If you're looking for cheap games.. well... this is where the problem starts.

I have been replying to you in regard to the thread, and the only information posted was quotes.

You keep following and replying to me in every topic, copy-pasting info from different threads. We’ve already discussed this issue — I heard your arguments, you heard mine. We disagree and that’s fine.

Let’s just stick to our own opinions and the topic which is EA, custom moderation in hubs and crowdfunding
