I want to get back to the subject of folding and the order in which you look for tiles to fold with.

1. Any tile that the Riichi player has dicarded that you have goes 1st.

2. Any tile that other players have discarded since the Riichi player went Riichi that you have goes 2nd.

3. Any Winds or Dragons where at least 1 has been discarded or you have 2 in your hand goes 3rd.

4. Any Terminal tiles where at least one adjacent tile has been discarded or you have one in your hand goes 4th.

5. Any Suji tiles. So if an opponent has dicarded a 5, any 2s or 8s that I have are relatively safe. These go 5th.

Correct, only thing would be to remember that suji tiles from the first few discards are usually safest, and that suji tiles from the Riichi calling tile are usually the least safe, unless its inside suji, and remember that, to defend against any possible hidden tenpai, the tile discarded by the player to your left is ALWAYS safe, because its a common thing to push and wait on a safe tile for a Riichi with hidden tenpai, so if someone calls Riichi, and others are not folding, they are probably also in tenpai.

Also look into Mawashi. Folding while still keeping the potential for getting to a ready hand, meaning, if you are 2 away from tenpai, and have 1 really usefull safe tile and 1 not usefull "most likely" safe tile, you could cut the latter, if your hand is worth the risk, to still try for tenpai.

Unless full folding, always try cutting the least usefull safe tiles first, just incase you draw back into a playable hand.
