I've never been able to get a copy of the contract or the proposal. Only relying on interviews. Iv'e seen conflicting reports it was a contract bid and others it was a submitted proposal/ Thanks for input. Source if you got it. I've seen the RW proposal but that isn't really relevant with the knucklehead discussion.
It was done via a RFP (request for proposal) to at least 4 contract studios including Uber Entertainment and RocketWerks. If you google search RocketWerks Project Mercury Proposal leak you should be able to find it on reddit, or some image captures of it on some other sites (I can't give you a direct link right now because my location currently; e.g. a vpn which I have reddit and similar sites filtered on.).

I don't believe Uber's proposal was ever leaked if that is what you're meaning. I'm just suggesting that I don't fully buy the notion (without actual evidence of such) that Uber's proposal was for "a prettied up KSP refactor/remake" and then later was changed by Nate. From Nate's own story regarding the original RFP at Uber Entertainment, they got the RFP while he was out at lunch and when he got back the studio heads (e.g. Jeremy Ables, and owners Bob Berry & Jon Mavor) sat him down and told him that they "might be working on KSP2". Nate was obviously, from his own recounts, directly involved in creating said proposal.

From Dean Hall's recounting of the notice from their proposal not winning; they distinctly noted the lack of storyboarding / concept art in comparison to the winning bid (e.g. Uber Entertainment's proposal). So it would certainly stand to reason that Nate (who was art director at Uber at the time) would have been directly involved in such concept art.
I generally don't source out of reddit so anhything there I don't usually take as fact.
as far as the "remaster" "remake" I base that on that there hasn't been a SINGLE take down demand, defamation complaint, slander suit regarding the multiple reports Jason and shadow have done on that specific topic
