Actually, I have no clue how many meters the max setting is. But when I max this out, I believe to see humans in ... uh.... 100m? (Maybe my distance guessing is bad LOL)

This 15 meter feeling is, when that setting is about 1/4 or 1/3 or the max, wich used to be a widespread recommendation for the VR version in 2020 or so. The mod FPS stabilizer still uses such conservative default settings. (FPS stabilizer changes drawdistance of landscape and buildings based on region you are currently in. And drawdistance of NPC, Objects and Items based on CPU latestarts (means the CPU struggles with the amount of objects currently visible).

If you use that mod, it overrides any setting you put into a ini file or set with the slider.
Biut it has its own ini file where you define the minimum and the maximum that its allowed to use.

EDIT: If you use any Wabbajack modlist then you DO have that mod. (Its a standard), it just comes with these outdated (?) drawdistance settings out of the box.

These settings are so low, that NPC that is not visible for you, hits you with arrows. LOL

EDIT 2:
I looked up the maximum distance for NPC, wich is 12288.00 units.
Each unit is 1.4cm, wich makes the maximum drawdistance of NPC 172 meter

Thanks bro. I know about the settings and maxed out everything. I have over 1700+ hours in special edition so I know a trick or two in terms of tweaking the game. I'll just double check my load order, since I build my own mod list instead of Wabbajack. I suspect the settings is overwritten by some whacked stuff I installed.
