I managed to kill one in Act 1 with the most braindead strategy possible, i just stacked consumables. As others here mentioned its stance is pretty low, and the sweeping arcs of a two handed axe work wonders for clearing his homing balls attack, so i recomend using it.

Unlike food effects wich you can only use one of a time there is no limit to how many healing and focus recovery buffs you can have at once. You can use two Focus regen herbs start the fight with a full focus bar and to regenerate Focus at a rapid pace through the rest of the fight, and by using two healing consumables that add to at least 8 or 9 Health/Second (say a Redshroom Tincture and a Riverbed Moss) you can just out-heal his draining attack, wich let you wail on him unpunished as long as he doesnt have his minions out.

I start the fight by triple casting the Bleeding attack on him and try to keep 3 stacks of bleed on him through the rest of the fight, wich is made easier by the fact that Wound is a cheap ability. The hardest part is when he summons his minions AND do the homing attack, since the minions can immobilize you and stun as well, so its a bit of RNG, but it only took me something like 20~30 tries at level 11 with a 35 prowess Axe and leather armor, as well as a bit over a dozen low to mid level consumables.

Better modding support (At least the ability to make resources and infrastructure, plus new people needs) will make this game 300% better with a possibility to lessen dev's load because...

Community wants new resources? There will be a mod for that! Community wants new infrastructure and needs? A mod for that!

And so on. Works great for minecraft, rimworld, project zomboid. Devs of those games even implement some of the best mods in the game itself.


I'm just making my first mod rn and I'm disappointed that I can't do 70% of things I planned, lol. Even such simple concept as $CIVIL_BUILDING token, turns out to be working only for residential buildings and my village schools, kindergardens and shops do require heating for some reason... Which makes me sad.

I can follow your line of argumentation. The story doesn´t concern me much, personally, as I prefer sandbox games to story-driven games by far. Once Virginia has the shotgun, I´ll drop the story for a long time and start exploring more, build cabins in strange places, and see with how little defenses I can get away with as my skill progresses. I think the atmosphere is top notch, and Kelvin and Virginia are my favorite NPCs of all times.

Sons of the Forest does shine brightest when you just say “forget the plot” and go full feral with Kelvin and Virginia.

You: “Let’s build a cozy cliffside shack and test how many cannibals I can ignore.”
Me: “But what does it mean that the forest is watching?!”
Both of us: “Kelvin, please stop putting logs through the tent.”

I love that the game supports both styles,. yours, which is basically Bear Grylls meets HGTV, and mine, which is more “lore nerd lost in the woods.”

But still… can’t help wanting that next big story beat, y’know?
A spooky twist, a new mystery, or maybe just one cutscene that isn’t Virginia T-posing in the distance.

sword tunnel pre-patch was especially unforgiving. i was able to learn the patterns for the majority of the attacks, but always struggled with the tunnel's large hitboxes. i don't think this update diminished the quality or difficulty of the fight; now all of the attacks can be practiced and learned with consistency. took me a couple of hours to finally beat this boss after many "practice" attempts (which eventually felt like exercises). it was a very rewarding fight. thank you!

There is the Chaos ability from the tree called Lure of the Horde, which is the 25% chance of being able to produce units from battles that you've won.

If you have the map setting with wildlife as marauders it would give you a better likelihood of winning against wildlife.

Empyrion since its first public release in 15 was "Grand Theft Spaceship 6" until about mid 2018 where it turned into "Grand Gun Free Zone or Got to perma jail by server owner for disrupting their "subscription" grift 6". By 19 nearly all pvp had vanished.

Now people think PVP is duelling.
