You need to understand Ys has grown a great deal in popularity in recent years, but is still a niche title. Of course, most are only buying the base version, but I'm sure Falcom has things worked out so that X% buy what edition and when, especially now that the series is established and it's mostly the same people.

Keep in mind that while this is localized, it is an international release. This kind of collector stuff is even more common in Japan, still the primary market for these games.

I also know Falcom is smaller and thinks in more quarterly and annual timelines. So, more money now is their goal, and how they're going for it. So getting superfans to buy in the strategy. If you aren't, don't feel bad. Keep in mind the meat of the game is in the base package.

So ya. I get it's ridiculous. But maybe just stick to the base versions and wait for a sale.

Use POISE TEAM.

Get all Grace of Immortal Star & enhance them to ++.

E.G.O. GIFTs Search Haunted Shoes, Frozen Cries, & Harpoon Prosthetic Leg.

Get FLOOR 1 THEME PACK with FLOOR CLEAR REWARDS Nebulizer.

You can see 2 Nodes ahead. Pick path with 2 Nodes with highest sum of points.

Abnormality Encounter Node: 5 points
Elite Encounter Node: 4 points
Event Node: 3 points
Focused Encounter Node: 2 points
Regular Encounter Node: 1 points

In Event Nodes, always pick choices that 1 / 2 E.G.O. GIFTs.

Get (don't Fuse) as many Tier II BLEED, TREMOR, & CHARGE, & Tier III SLASH, BLEED, & POISE E.G.O. GIFTs as possible.

Then, get (don't Fuse) Devil's Share, Ornamental Horseshoe, Pendant of Nostalgia, Angel's Cut, & Recollection of a Certain Day if they're available.

Then, if you still have leftover Cost, get lots of E.G.O. GIFTs for Fusions.

You Cost must never go below 500 so Grace of the Immortal Star Cumulating Starcloud gives you the most Cost.

FLOOR 3 THEME PACK is Yield My Flesh To Claim Their Bones. Get Fractured Blade, Broken Blade, & Rusted Hilt. If not, get them in Yield My Flesh To Claim Their Bones BokGak.

Next chapter seems to be taking the fight to the Ichthians, so maybe a lot of sea monster bosses will be in there.

Pal combat AI is pretty bad at times. Prioritizing targets that it can't reach and ignoring ones that are actively attacking you. Traveling nearly any distance to attack something that you left behind on your mount, but not far enough for it to unload. Scaring away the fish with their attacks. Joking on the last one. Found out the hard way to recall and/or pull a fight away from the water. So much nicer to just fish out at sea without random fights.

Base building needs some love. Pathing can be annoying but I found other issues more bothersome. Mainly ranching and to a lesser extent crops. Ranch pals dropping one item at a time saturates transport pals with needless busywork when you try to scale up to more than a few ranch pals. It really is easier just to buy or farm everything yourself. Even when I threw tons of transport palls at the problem there would be times that the output would vary wildly. Sometimes I'd have too much milk and next it would flipflop and I'd have too much eggs. This is with no piles of items left on the ground because the transport pals couldn't keep up. My suspicion is that items are either falling through the floor/ground or that the game is instantly deleting some items when I hit the default cap of 3k items on the ground?

Crops output is strange as well. I throw more pal workers than I need at the problem and I still end up with huge stockpiles of one ingredient over another despite keeping the number of plantations and their growth times in mind.

Honestly I feel like this could all be simplified if both plantations and ranches had their own storage/buffer like ore sites do. But I suppose the problem then would be decaying. Wait, does the decay timer even run before crops or ranch items are picked up?

Not bad at all for the first game.

And just fyi, it is possible to get stuck in small gaps between obstacles
