It wouldn't have been, no. That's literally the point. Since we know they would have loved the game (we know this because they DID buy the game and DID love it), then the impression given by the tanked aggregate would have been misleading. It certainly didn't represent what people who actually played the game thought about it.

Very, VERY few people follow forum drama. Pretty much everyone sees the aggregate.

thats a choice for them to make,

if people correcting wrong information when it comes to people complaining about being attacked in a PvP zone and labelling it griefing/ganking
even though they went out of their way to be attacked by ignoring every warning and resource in the PvE zones that require less travel time, which are the same resources as PvP zones. if that deters people from playing then they were never interested in the game to begin with

After an attack, the only reason the attackers called the worm was to make sure every item he had on him was permanently destroyed.

The ambush along with the total wipeout of all his gear and his thopter is griefing.

This was really good information, they should have released it earlier and they could have dodged a lot of criticism. The buildings make much more sense if their design was actually meant to make the early game and specifically round 1 more predictable.

So it seems like the aggro nerf was unintentional. And they are trying to mitigate that by removing the deployment zone limit and maybe removing sticky bomb.

Also they seem very data-driven in their approach, that's to say reactive rather than proactive. Here is a prediction, once the patch is out they will find out within maybe 3-5 weeks that unit summoning spells are being played way less and they will lower the cost by 50 on at least crawler and wasp summoning, maybe on some of the others as well.
