It's actually not a bad game, it's just that

1. the learning curve, well, there's no curve. It's everything at once, the tutorials are a joke, and normally you should be playing a campaign with increasingly complex maps, features being added bit by bit.
Perhaps the problem is that the game had been in early access for too long (I just got in), and most of its playerbase DID get an increasingly complex game.

I've been playing domination-only maps with no worms, no bs storms, low tax so that I can try out every faction's stuff, it's fun enough. Later I will probably add worms & increase the difficulty. That's what a proper campaign should all be about.

2. how is it fun to be managing funds for hours in order to build an army, and then, out of nowhere, be game over by one faction ON THE STOCK MARKET or in POLITICS?
The game is too much politics, the councils are too frequent and annoying, the spy operations are ok (but back to problem 1, it's normally something that gets introduced after some hours in a campaign). But most importantly, the politics & stock crap aren't just tools to assist war here, they ARE wars :(

You are right, all at once is a bit too much for a new player. I came from their older game (Northguard) where you have to manage multiple things at once too so it wasn't difficult for me to get into Dune Spice Wars.
But this game ist one of the most fun games in this regard. Multiple legit ways to win so you can decide what you want to do. I agree that the game should tell you exactly every one of the win conditions so you know what to expect.

After all it's all about strategic thinking and planning.

Yes, I see that this is early access, that's why I'm asking.
I don't buy games in early access on principle, because I don't trust them and I want to see only a finished, high-quality product in my library.

Well, this is version 0.5.0 and completion would be version 1.0.0, so it's at about the halfway point (in theory). That doesn't mean half the story is done, just half of the game overall. Given the update history of just a little more than a month between major updates, if that pace holds (and rounding up a little), there is at least 6 more months of development time to go, before 1.0.0. But, that really is just a bunch of wild speculation on my part.
