TL;DR version, it can't do any of the things pyro would normally use his flamethrower for, and the things it can do pretty much just boil down to "things that get you killed".
I agree with you that the df is worse than stock and the degreaser, but there are a couple points I disagree with:
-flames are inconsistent too, and while getting better at aiming can result in hitting shots consistently that doesn't completely apply to stock since particles are inconsistent by nature, so you'll hit more but never all.
-Degreaser+panic attack does more damage, but it relies on a strict timing in between shots that is easier to mess up without a script (so the only way I'll consider) and it only outdamages at a considerably lower range, while the df keeps his high damage even at mid range.
-Reflecting a fireball is pretty much luck based since you can't react to the projectile even at df maximum range, and you can fight at a higher range. The fight is quite even if both pyro a are skilled, it depends on the range, but overall the df pyro will perform better in most cases because every range outside of flames range is where he wins.
-flames are inconsistent yeah, but they're no where NEAR as punishing as the dragon's fury can be at its worst. unless you're actively paying attention, you probably won't even notice the flamethrower acting differently.
-the timing isn't that hard once you get it down, it just takes practice. and i'd definitely say its easier to master than the DF.
-its really not, its one of the easiest projectiles to reflect because of how predictable the fire rate is. if he misses center of mass even once, its pretty much a free win for the normal pyro.

short description: area outside of the first temple that involves the winding river and the area immediately above it causes the camera to go nuts with it's sensitivity, the character moves glitchily, and the game locks up.

Full description, which defeats the purpose of the short one:
When I head to the area around the first temple, where you get the ability to teleport with the teleport pads, the area right outside it that winding river and the area right above it, that entire area is completely messed up, the moment I go in there the camera immediately becomes hyper sensitive and the characters move very glitchy and choppy like I have poor connection to an multiplayer game. It happened when I went there before that mission to go into the temple was active, it did it when I was told to go to the temple as part of the story, and now that it's over it's not only doing it but it's worse.
Since i finished the first temple I try to travel down the river using the teleportation circles and it locks up, the music still plays the camera still moves, and the characters are doing their idle animations, but I can't do anything else, they won't move, they won't attack, the pause menu won't work, etc.
It's a nightmare, i move the analog stick even slightly and the goes flying off instantly to the max location on that side it could go, I can move the speed down to 1.0 and it doesn't change in that area (usually I have it at 3.5-4.0), it just does whatever the hell it wants. That area is utterly and completely broken. After moving through the area a little bit eventually the game just locks up, the camera is still moving, the music is still playing the characters are still rocking back and forth as though I stopped moving, but no matter what button I push nothing happens, can't move through the area, can't pause, can't anything I have to manually close the game after alt+tabbing out of it. This has happened numerous times when I try to move through there, be it by running or by trying to use the teleportations that run down the river, even if I get through the area if I get to the central area it locks up there while I'm still on the teleporter.
