I actually quite like the 4.0 patch and especially the changes to the colony management UI. The fact that buildings now add jobs to each district is a huge improvement, and we now get 21 buildings instead of just 12. The population rework took a little bit of getting used to, but I have learned how it works now.

Empire focus is more of a "what do I do next" helper system for new players that gives them some guaranteed research options early on if they progress through it. Nice to have but its entirely optional. I tend to just let the empire focus objectives passively complete to get some research options every once in a while, but its not anything I actually focus on (I think this is how they expect more experienced players to interact with it)

not a problem, I really appreciate the information. Its all very helpful, its also nice to amass a collection of good mods for when I'm ready to use them from someone that knows more about the game than me.

After reading your post though I have a question about your post itself, as well as some more miscellaneous gameplay questions, and again I super apologize if these seem like, obviously easily searchable questions. Looking up anything related to this game pretty much results in missed potential type articles, modded stuff, or games bad and you shouldn't play it. Like that wiki you linked I didn't even find when google searching for tips but I bookmarked it for later reference.

1. I see you mentioned universes. I saw this a lot in google searches but there's no like, universe selection in game. Is it tied to a character? does each character have their own universe? Does steam cloud auto back up my universe or does it only back up the character?

2. I finally got a shield, and some new armor which is great and I noticed 2 things. my damage went up when equipping the iron armor and I noticed the shield has health but I haven't managed to block anything with it. Are stat boosts tied to armor, and does the shield permanently break if I use it too much?

3. I realized I didn't collect as much fuel as I thought I did. I saw the spooky moon dudes, and got shredded by them on my second attempt because I forgot they existed. Do you have any general tips for mining the moon safely?

I really like this mod but I don't understand what's the logic in changing the allied highlight on the mouse pointer from green to yellow citrus (or vomit if you want to be less polite about).

Dear garry, do you not ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ realize that if you keep milking your ♥♥♥♥♥♥ game without adding anything to it, people will stop playing it and stop giving you money? Paywalled cosmetics work only if THERES PEOPLE THAT BUY THEM. This is not rust where you can just 2-hour bait people into not being able to return the game, therefore forcing them to play it. You need to ACTUALLY make something GOOD so ppl would stay. No i dont care if its "A gAmE eNgInE", your ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ game engine competition has it like 20 times better.

Pick up the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ pace, we all really just want another gmod 2, not roblox 2
