While this thread is about the characters specifically, and how they are covered (the lack of bias, complete normalization), I find that it also directly ties into the plot device that is the player’s interference. Kris is often shown disregarding the player’s choices, not only because they interfere with their ambitions, but also because they strongly disagree with them (being mean to Susie, Ralsei or Noelle - their friends) or they simply want to reassert their control (Kris makes sure that the player gets the final piano puzzle wrong, so that they can play for themselves). It’s their life, and as such, they should be the only ones with the right to make the final decision on what they’re doing, but you disregard that, forcefully inserting yourself into their own life and forcing them to be what they’re not; I see this as a metaphor, with people who question their own sexuality often being forced to abide by customs that were forced upon them by an external force, either society or the government - they would like to shape their own identity, but they are scared to come out, forcing them to be what they’re not. This becomes even clearer during the weird route, where Noelle is forced into a hetero “relationship” with Kris and is deprived of her independence (no longer free to decide for themselves, forced to accept every command), identity (forced to hide her real emotions, sexuality (relationship with Susie), and opinions), with Kris being forced to comply.

Thought that would add something to this thread (although the weird route stuff was said before), don’t want it to go off-topic again.

Yeah Kris's entire thing kinda ties into being enby, the only human in town so they're viewed differently, they hate the player and don't care about what they think including people misgendering them etc.

Before the midnight update as cortex (sometimes sanitar sometimes controller, i havent played too much with limitator) i had usually no problems with being cortex, as i could do other jobs like metalworking or distillery in between patrols and clearing cameras. Cyte-wise I never go cortex unless if I have full 50 cytes, and I'm pretty much able to get back to 50 cytes as cortex, able to buy food from those who sell and use my rations whenever I need. I don't do much PvP while i'm playing as CTX, so i don't die as often and go bankrupt in cytes. When I needed food and there were no one selling it and ration being far away, I'd go get a bottle of antibacterium, go fishing, get about 20 fish, eat them in club bathroom and spam on the sink to get moisture back, then rest in the club as i chug antibacterium down. So no, I haven't really needed to beg for food or ever complained about cytes.

Hmmm. In the face of friendly kill Anamnecyte loss, I wonder if this plays out most of the time. I guess the only way to make sure is ask a bunch of Cortex players and see if we need to ask the devs to implement changes.

If this is true and they do give peope the clans and the other stuff included as part of the base game. That will go a long way.

Locking core mechanics or rpg elements to a paywall was the stupidest idea ever. It took a collective effort of all the people for speaking up against this bad decision.

restarting hasn't helped, friends aren't able to either.

I don't think it was ever an issue in the past but it's been happening at least once or twice every play session w the fellas lately and it's getting really irritating.

I've never had a issue with it so i don't know. And I do play with my Dad.
