I mean it's not this generation. Look at the.... well, origin of EA's Origin and Lord British. Publishers have always been a problem

Care to explain why this is relevant? Just because the publisher is the problem with Subnautica 2 doesn't mean the publisher is always at fault.

it's an example of what is happening with current generation game development vs their publishers. There have been multiple instances of publishers halting developers from doing what they want to do with their game or releasing a product they are not happy with. If you happened to read the rest of that message instead of nit-picking that specific statement you'd have read I said it's entirely possible that it's not the case, but blaming Blackbird for failures without taking into consideration the other side of this entire thing is just as brain-dead as the media who spread accusations without taking on both sides..

There are plenty of terrible development teams. (RETO for example, who put Heroes and Generals into the ground before selling the destroyed remains to another dev team who didn't even have it a year before it went belly-up.. ROBLOX being the current most rancid "development" team out there with no consideration of safety for their player base. EA has ruined their sports-games with micro transactions, and then you got Ubisoft with their assassins creed franchise.)

So why is it relevant? It's relevant because looking at it from only one side is ignorant and doesn't help progress the gaming experience for the future generations. It only alienates and muddies the understanding within the community.
