I clicked on the link and the person that said it claims they have such a sound always in their ears at very loud volumes, so I fail to see how hearing the same thing in a game or movie would trigger symptoms. If his condition is as bad as claimed, the symptoms would already be ever present.

Valve Announces Complete Shutdown of Counter-Strike 2

Bellevue, WA – August 14, 2025 –
After careful consideration, several cups of coffee, and one very intense game of office ping-pong, Valve has decided to completely shut down Counter-Strike 2 effective September 1, 2025.

While CS2 was launched with the intention of being “the next evolution” of competitive FPS gaming, we underestimated the sheer power of our player base’s ability to find bugs, abuse smoke grenades in ways that defy physics, and send us screenshots of every single misaligned pixel on Inferno.

“Honestly, it’s exhausting,” said a visibly tired Gabe Newell while attempting to reload a real-life spray can. “We thought Source 2 would fix everything. Turns out, we just made the guns shinier.”

In place of CS2, Valve will launch Counter-Strike: Text Adventure Edition, a fully narrative-driven experience where players type commands like “PEEK CORNER” and “BUY AK-47” into a terminal window. This should resolve any and all netcode complaints, since there will be no graphics, servers, or actual shooting.

As a token of appreciation, every current CS2 owner will receive:
