My experience (even if no one asked for it ): I had wrists problems, too, and these have been solved for me when I replaced the normal mouse by a vertical mouse. Maybe a possible interim solution until the controllers work better?

I had no issues at all with gathering and returning with enough to unlock everything, every new day provides a new regeneration of everything. if you are struggling now, what is going to happen when we get access to the entire map. The Recipe unlock is not daunting, in fact, it lacks enough required items to feel like actual progression. the better recipes should be in the hundreds of items to unlock. This is the scale this game needs

He stays dead permanently, and it's not required for Venigni's questline either. It's a morbid choice the player can make that, in line with the themes of the story in question, is set up to feel hollow no matter what you choose.
