I did that Corrupted RockBreakers by simply crossing the river to the other side and luring them over from there to attack them. Easiest Corrupted zone that I've cleared in HZD:CE (Horizon Zero Dawn: Complete Edition) , imho.

I think you are correct. The consumption control (even the top global one) affects only the "currently present and known" races. So if you have two races they cannot eat the paste.
But if among the new villagers a new races comes, then you need to again set the global consumption control, as it only affects the two previously known races and not the new one.
It is i think tied to the similar effect that you cannot build a race house until the race appears among the newcomers or reward villagers. (So as in not to be able to prepare what is to come.)

The issue is more with how comprssed ground BRs compared to air BRs. Both gamemodes are compressed af, bringing 11.0 CAS to fight 12.0 SPAA while you may need to defend yourself against ARH missiles sounds bad as hell. Same applies to nuke carriers but thats even worse since they don't even get any countermeasures and their RWR is... ew, good thing Snail will replace them soon.

Ornithopters should be among the worst possible choices for a desert planet known for its sandstorms. All that sand would grind any mechanical mechanisms to the point of not working in short order (the wingbeats make modern rotorcraft look sluggard), and even if you take the "EU" lore about Thopter wing roots actually being a type of alien mollusc (no joke) what happens when you get sand into molluscs? ;)
