The Media is starting to take notice of Collective Shout, Visa, MasterCard Issue

So the lawyers are finally weighing in on the executive order on how it affects MasterCard and Visa, and it sounds like our fight is not yet done.

I am still watching but wanted to get this out.

Of course this doesn't solve the fight. If it did, then Steam would have restored the ability to purchase the games that got censored during the Visa, Inc. selective burning of artistic works.

Oddly, there is already laws in place to deal with Visa, Inc.

Keep in mind how Visa defines itself and how it advertises the services it provides:
"The consumer may access an infinite range of goods and services whenever he chooses wherever he may be."[1]

[1] https://youtu.be/lnz2gRPDzrA?t=51

This quote is directly from Visa's own Dee Hock but expanding a customer's ability to access whatever the customer wants.

In reality, the clear purpose of the obscene/brand management clause is to actually arbitrarily reduce access of what can be purchased.

When a company advertises one thing and has an established policy to behave in a way that is the exact opposite then that, it seems to me, qualifies for the legal definition of FRAUD.

To be very clear, it is my opinion that Visa, Inc. (NYSE: V) has shown they are in the business of FRAUD. And the Federal Trade Commission exists for the purpose of investigating reports of advertising fraud as can be found here:
https://reportfraud.ftc.gov/

So, when Visa, Inc. take steps to reduce the number of LGBTQ+ games on Steam to fit Visa, Inc.'s homophobic agenda, then that is inconsistent with their advertised purpose and that is clearly fraud.

When Visa, Inc. take steps to ban from purchase Vile: Exhumed from an all female game development studio to fit Visa, Inc.'s misogynistic agenda, that also is inconsistent with their advertised purpose and again is clearly Visa, Inc. conducting fraud.

There is plenty more examples and this list will continue in the future.

For Visa, Inc. to be consistent with what it claims, then the policy must provide guarantees of the access they claim to provide rather than be a method to reduce it.

To make the situation even worse, Visa, Inc. refuses to provide a consistent legal definition for "obscene." They hold a games marked for adults only on Steam to a higher standard than they hold their partners to.

A side by side comparison of the the game Vile: Exhumed (adult game banned by Visa) with Roblox (rated T for Teens game partnered with Visa, Inc.) show there are two very bipolar definitions for obscene from this company that is applied in an very unequal and self serving way.

It is easy to see what gets Visa, Inc. into bully/censor/burn works mode and what gets Visa, Inc. into partnership mode:

* Valve is privately held company worth around $10 billion that makes it an easy target of a Visa, Inc. ($600+ billion) attack

* Roblox is a publicly traded company worth $80 billion thus worthy of partnership. With that Visa, Inc. chooses to be completely blind to any reasonable definition of obscene

What has been reported recently, in my opinion, makes it clear that Roblox harms the mental health of children. Yet that has not qualified it for a Visa, Inc. payment processing ban! ... because it is a Visa, Inc. partner.

This entire behavior of picking and choosing the exclusion of select adult only games while promoting clearly adult content for children is unacceptable. And there is thing we can do without any additional executive orders or laws being passed.

We can right now:

(1) Fill out the form to the Federal Trade Commission to report the fraud that Visa Inc. is taking part in.

(2) We can make sure we are not invested in Visa, Inc. (NYSE: V) or Roblox (NYSE: RBLX). If you have retirement funds put into mutual funds then read the prospectus and if that mutual fund is invested in either of these companies then move the funding to a different mutual fund. These investments are our choice and we don't need to fund companies that bully, lie and harm children.

As great as it would be to nailed them for fraud, I think the best long shot one could hope for is deceitful business practices.
