I've unlocked suburbia and so far encountered 1 ambush. I know the cartel dealers made some deals because I delayed hiring dealers or recruiting customers at the start on purpose (it showed up as dealer sales at the end of the day, but I didn't even have dealers), but I never saw them. Was running around the map most of the playthrough.

The way things are currently, there is a very big chance you will never meet any of the cartel members before finishing the game. I was really hoping it would be implemented better.

The wide range of experiences I've seen makes them seem very inconsistent. Some people have reported constant harassment towards their dealers, I've seen streamers fighting them a bunch, but I haven't really seen them more than once. And seemingly others never see them or just once in a while their dealers get robbed.

Thankfully this is the beta and Tyler has plenty of time to tweak and rebalance things so the cartel actually feels worth engaging with.

My dealers got robbed constantly. I don't really count that, because it's not a real interaction. Just a roll of the dice on how much product/cash you loose every now and then.

Yes but I play Marvel to experience those developed characters not new OCs I have no connection to with zero worldbuilding.

technically if we get new heroes they'll probably be put into the marvel rivals comic line so it might work out, although it's too early to tell(not that some people would be affected as i'm sure a few people out there care more about how a hero plays than their lore or who they are)

Nah, if I haven't read the comics I don't care and I'm not reading any of the Marvel Rival comics. I'm just here interested in the heroes from my youth, nothing more.

There are truck parts that will improve the profitability of your drivers but most of them will take a long time to amortise their cost. This guide provides the gory detail:

Bottom line is that if your primary focus is increasing the number in the top right of the Route Advisor you are far better off, as already stated, 'going wide' by hiring more drivers in basic trucks than by 'going big' in trying to maximise the profit from each driver. Patience is the primary key - your drivers will start to rake in money for you as their skills develop to the extent that you will soon be wondering what to do with the hundreds of millions in the virtual bank.

The other thing that people obsess on too readily is the short term profitability of each driver - the game screens only show you the data from the past week of activity, not for their whole employ, so short term blips are guaranteed. As long as they are fully employed they will make you a profit so don't worry about the occasional negative income or empty return.
