I've played every ending and the Reed hate also baffles me by how extreme it is. Shows that people never sided with him to see more of his character. Especially in the kill Songbird ending where he admits that you were right to do so and that he is rethinking his blind loyalty and starts improving as a person.

Also shoutout to all the people who hate Reed for bringing up Jackie sending them into a flying rage when he's 100% right. He doesn't even insult Jackie at all, just tells you you are making the same mistake that got Jackie and yourself killed last time.

I'm scanning through these comments and I do not see a single one extreme hate comment towards Reed. Are you referring to other topics you've read? :)

I don't hate Reed myself and it sucked having being forced to put him down when taking Song to the rocket. But I also made no assumption that he was my friend in any deep sense. I didn't think it at first, but he was a robot personality operating in binary.

If you side with his wishes, you get to live. If you don't, you die. But what about context? Nothing but an obstacle to him. In other words, irrelevant.

Alex warns you to not make a friend out of him. She knew exactly what she was talking about. He'd pat you on the back one moment telling you "good job" and the next, put a barrel down your throat without hesitation if you did something he didn't like.

In case anyone forgot, it's exactly how he trained So Mi to be for all those years before he kicked the bucket under Myer's command. That's why he didn't blame her when she helped orchestrate his demise. He clearly feels responsible for her becoming this Frankenstein's monster that's trying to break free.

All these characters look at tough decisions as obstacles and treat them as such.
In a way, that can be seen as an impressive attribute to get the job done, but when you see humanity get thrown onto the chopping block as part of that decision...
(What So Mi did at the marketplace in order to escape or what Myer's did at the Orbital Air Station just to find and kill So Mi, for example) and Reed going along with it reluctantly.
Well.
That's where the player comes in and makes a stand of their own.

Who's plan do you ruin and why?

So Mi simply wanted out, much like T-Bug did. But Bug never got her chance (or.. did she? wink wink). Maybe that also helped drive me to lean on So Mi more than Reed, even if by a small margin.

We did almost get Reed to crack (if you side with him) over the Maxtac setup with the 6th Streeters. But he refused to let you in further because he saw it as weakness to a foundation that needed to be strong. So that never blossomed. Was he strong though??
Or was he simply overprotecting a weakness living inside him? Well, you get to see those barriers come down if you send Song to Myers. But too little too late then.

You're talking about not seeing the bigger picture, but one has to wonder just what the scope of this "big picture" is.

It was tragic all around.
Were there any real winners here? Well that's up to how you view it.

I don't really see winners. But my decision gave me (and Johnny) a bit of satisfaction helping that dangerous bird fly away and the journey itself was both incredible and confounding. :)

In the end, I feel like Alex and I were sort of in the same boat and she booked it right after (if you side with Song). Kind enough to let you walk unharmed after the events at Orbital, despite being ordered to zero you on sight and even left us a postcard with well wishes.

There are many ways to look at it or just one way, depending on your take. This was mine. 😊

Especially after patch 1.5. But the point is that in DMC the player's and enemies' pace is initially set by the genre, the player's character is fast and so are the enemies. But in the souls like genre the player's character is always slower than most enemies, we know this at least from the Dark Souls series, and even in the same Elden Ring most bosses are simply much faster than the player several times, like Maliketh for example.

Plenty of bosses in this game are much faster than you as well. Elden Ring only really has a couple that stands out being faster.

The game overall has not been touched in difficulty. It's only the starting area.

Masssya lähetti viestin:
But for some reason this didn't bother anyone, but in the case of Wuchang, where everything was well thought out, they decided to whine and talk about "bad game design", that animations should be sped up, enemies should be nerfed, damage taking should be nerfed, traps should be removed, etc.

Healing was too slow for how fast paced the game was. Being knocked down and almost always getting hit from the combo that knocked you down is quite cheap.
Some enemies where over tuned.

The mines that they put in the mud camps where so cheap even Dark Souls 2 would be impressed by it and that game had a lot of cheap traps in it.

Masssya lähetti viestin:
Here we have a lot of "experts in game design", but the point is that many players have completed the game in the release version, which means that everything is fine with the balance and game design. The problem is only with whiners who do not want to understand the mechanics of the game and become better and they just ask to simplify the game, ruining the game for the rest of those who were happy with everything as it was.

You have a small group of people who are exceptionally good at these games and who are the ones who seek these out. These same people will chase away new players the moment they start to struggle.

So far it seems only the starting area was the only one getting some nerfs. So unless you're stuck in the starting area I don't think this is an issue. You probably think it's a super easy area and anyone who dies in it should just stop playing video games right?

Bosses are not touched though. They are still the same.

The cries about the nerfs are an overreaction. As the game as a whole hasn't really been made that much easier.
