Today a new type of event started. And it has one small plus - it does not have stupid quests "throw away gems, waste gold, learn unnecessary combos" etc. Which is already good because it does not bother. The player simply gets additional event currency for regular bosses. It will do.

But the event's downsides outweigh this plus. Lets talk about rewards. They consist of 2 parts. The first is the wheel pulls. The second is guaranteed rewards for 10/20/35 spins. And here everything is bad.

Again, there is no indication of the chances with which you can get cards and other rewards from the wheel.

But the worst thing is that you can't get a guaranteed gold base card in this event. You can get lucky with the spins, or you can't. It's disgusting! For a guarantee, you get 3 final cards. Gold, epic and event boss. If I've calculated everything correctly (and if the spins don't get more expensive after the 10/20/35 thresholds), then the f2p player can make total 35 spins during the event and get the maximum guaranteed reward. But epic cards are not such a cool reward. The main reason is the high cost of upgrading them in dust. You need to save dust for 3-4 months to upgrade 1 epic card. Well, why the hell do you need them? Even its 2 stats better then regular boss card, it not such exciting, At some poit queue for upgrades of epic cards begin counts in YEARS... Its absurd. So yes, even its realy cool to have event boss card as a reward its defenetly not enough.

How can you make an event really good? It's very easy - add a guaranteed reward for 30 spins, with a gold base card. And then everything will be great. There will be a guarantee for the base card and the opportunity to get a boss card, and as a bonus - some rewards from the spins themselves. But without a guarantee for the base card, it's just another cash grag slop, designed to milk money from players who will hope to get a basic card with pulls with hidden odds.

Is this game like Dead Space, SOMA, System Shock or Prey (2017)? I see its on sale so was wondering. TY in advance.

And a year or so later a friend got the game and wanted to play it with me so I was like sure... I'll try the robot guy (mained the shield/drone guy) but a fresh playthrough was so easy and boring we quit early on... very lame. I'm sure Randy would have loved to charge $$$ to start a new character at max level so there was some inkling of challenge instead of wasting dozens of hours of our time getting there.

Ya, its a new trend that these types of games nerf content so people can get to endgame quicker. It is a HUGE reason why I am on board day 1 immediately. The same thing happened in BL2. They made all the raid bosses farmable and loot was too abundant. BL3 felt like it was just nerfed all around.

Same thing happens in Diablo games now too. I loved the hell out of Diablo 3 when it came out because it was ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ difficult and terrifying (I only play hardcore). But I played it a couple of months ago and I was soloing max tier raids after 20 hours of playtime. The game basically turned into a Blizzard mod for MS paint.

So be prepared for that to happen again with Borderlands 4. These games always get ruined as soon as post-launch nerfs start

I don't think that's why they nerf it.

I've watched this happen in several games and there is one thing you notice with gamers.

Despite their "git gud" stance, the vast majority of gamers don't want to "git gud" at all. They are very impatient and don't want to spend time levelling or gathering weapons, so they can't face difficult challenges and they create all hell if they can't complete the game in five minutes.

First Descendant was an excellent example. People didn't understand the gear and skills and complained until the devs nerfed the game to death. The game is trivial, it's so easy (I think that and I'm not a good player).

It could go either way in Borderlands. Lets hope that gamers don't start complaining. If they do then the devs will just do what the mass of gamers want.

Weapon Set Points are no Bonus Points.
With around 122 Weapon Set Points you can literally start from zero and have 2 complete different Skilltrees.
But at the end you can never have more active Nodes than you number of normal Skill Points.
