nProtect Gameguard issues and problems - Megathread / Player reports and my reasons for not purchasing Helldivers II for the time being

maybe I'm blind but there seems to be no real change for gameguard in coming people keep saying maybe the devs will listen but so far I've heard no intent to take action despite the majority agreement from helldiver players about it being removed anyone know whats going on?

Very good question, unfortunately we don't know currently what their plans are.

What we know is that:
- Arrowhead already acknowledged that they received a lot of complaints about Gameguard and started internal discussions about it. Back then they said it was low priority due to 'other fires roaring', namely heaps of other game breaking bugs.
- Even the former Arrowhead CEO ackowledged that Gameguard stops disabled gamers from playing the game by shutting down their accessibility software.
- The AH community managers promised on multiple occasions to ask the devs about the whole Gameguard situation, but eventually we didn't get a definitive answer about their plans.

We don't know why Arrowhead is doing this, even though they promised to monitor and listen to player feedback. We can only hope that the situation changes, as this community already went above and beyond providing a mountain of negative feedback about Gameguard.

The latest two issue types Gameguard causes are that:
- On 13th and 14th gen CPUs after players apply the latest BIOS update, they can't play the game anymore as Gameguard prevents them from doing so with errors.
- Gameguard is yet again conflicting with and shutting down such a common piece of software as AMD Adrenaline. There are many common software types that are affected by this problem due to Gameguard - even EDR solutions.

There are also other issue types, which are not yet listed in the OP, becuase I didn't have time to add the latest reports due IRL obligations. I will remedy this with proper updates when I have more time to spare.
Regardless, the same issue types already listed keep popping up since release.

At the end of the day, only Arrowhead has the decision making power and ability to get rid of Gameguard one way or another. What we as the community can do is provide more feedback and hope that they listen.

However, I also received messages and saw posts from many potential players that they moved on, and honestly I can't blame them. Arrowhead still refusing to listen to feedback doesn't inspire confidence.

Gore — in most ways, absolutely. The blood is still excessive and covers up a lot, and the "juicing" gore that happens with explosives is very underwhelming, but the rest of the gore system is a notable step up.
What gore? With max settings to everything, I have yet to see a passable amount of gore that competes or surpasses KF2's gore. I've seen more blood and gore in KF1 than in KF3. KF2's gore was peak, but how does a game in 2016 made with the Unreal 3 engine do a better job at it than a AAA game made with the Unreal 5 engine? I've blown up trash Zeds with explosives, shot heads off and more, and there's barely any blood on the floor when they bleed out and there are barely any bits and pieces from those blown up, let alone insides that fling around like in KF2 of you killed a Bloat with an explosive. Why do I not see that here, and if there happens to be a gore limit setting I overlooked, why isn't it set to max by default? The amount of blood and gore here is disappointing
I'm not going to list everything here, there's a detailed dev blogpost with features that you can go through and recreate in game. Yes, KF2 gore still does a few things much better, but since there's no Nvidia Flex this time around, it wouldn't make sense to complain about the fluids and gibs. Those systems were excessively taxing and couldn't be optimized enough to make them viable, which would be an even bigger nightmare in KF3 which already struggles to run decently.
