Maybe a rare giant sea serpent that shows up from time to time that can damage your boat. Hail afflicting damage to you when not in cover, Storms where the waves get very hard to control a boat. Under water plants that attack with a poison upon touch. Large Large long snake like eels that protect some areas that can hurt you with either a bite or maybe they could be electric and cause a stun for duration that can prevent you from surfacing, or the zap would cause your air tank to spring a leak losing air and stunning you.
