That is straight up ignorant. You can get computer parts in Russia, especially in Moscow where the dev lives.

Something about it has always seemed wrong to me, and it seems you agree. "Avoid that temple even though it might just be empty" and "Darn these sneaky bandits, so hard to catch!" are both fun moments, IMO...

However! There are certain classes like Druid, Dryad, Barbarian, and Witch--they have meager starting armies, impoverished starting territories, and they NEED to grab ancient forests asap. If they don't their economy suffers, and they will take attrition they can't afford from the beast spawn.

"Is that 'empty' ancient forest guarded by 5 goblins, or freaking archdruid with an army of bears?" is a significantly LESS fun moment, in my experience, because A:It is game ending and B: it happens a lot, as these classes.

I would say it makes thematic sense that the forest-dwelling tribes start with scouts. And balance-wise, I don't see it as a huge buff.
