Bowman has run out of useful terrain to explore, and heads home to Guard.
Scouts have found the South Ice Bridge. (On a Flat map, it's not a Pole :steammocking:)

As of Build #12, only Flat maps are implemented.
The South "Polar" Ice Cap flattens out into a linear strip, 2-3 tiles tall x the width of the map.
This can usefully connect continents that have no other land connection.

In particular, I could surely reach the Cramped Yellow SE continent via the ice bridge.
Conversely, bears and such could cross the ice bridge to attack us on this continent.

  • Manuf +0.5 (from the +1 pop) = 7.0 slightly better, now 60.0 items cost 9 turns
  • Food +1.5 is brutally low, it needs 46 turns to grow to pop 5 and radius-2

I don't need it for Unrest, but it's too slow to scout well, and lairs will soon spawn.

I prioritize Food to rush pop 5, radius-2, and +2 Fertile Plains.
I plan the following tour of builds:
  1. Turn 24 + 5 = 29: Farm on SW Cattle for +2 Food, +1 Raw Materials
  2. Turn 29 + 5 = 34: Farm on SE Plains for +1 Food
  3. Turn 34 +1 (move) +5 = 40: Farm on NW Plains for +1 Food
  4. Turn 40 +1 (move) +5 = 46: Mine on E Silver Vein for +2 Gold
  5. Turn 46 +1 (move) +5 = 52: Camp on NE Fertile Coastal Hills
It's a bit of a tough start, but most games are like this early on.
