I think you are too focused on technical/consumer aspects. I did not begin my comment with a tech talk, but a hypothesis. There's plausible scenarios where anonymity would be needed. I didn't suggest it was a readily available product someone could buy with enough cash.

I was wondering how complicated it would be to change the behavior of tamed animals.

So let me explain:

On every new playthrough, I tame a wolf, not for Combat or breeding but as a pet for my base. And it's always sad to see them do nothing but stand and walk.

I think it would be great if they could interact with some building structures. Like "lying in front of the fireplace or the bed" or "trying to catch Whisps at the Whisp Fountain at night" things like that. There are certainly many possibilities what they could do.

Interaction with the player would also be great. "Being greeted when you come home from an adventure" or "sitting annoyingly next to you when you try to cook".

I think you get what i mean. :-)

I personally spend a lot of time in my base and try to build it up so it feels like home. More lively animals would definitely help with that.

Not all wolves have to be like that. I thought maybe it could be combined with an equippable item, like a scarf or something for the wolves. Similar to the saddles we use for riding.

Boars and chickens could perhaps just seek shelter from the rain if there's a roof nearby or have other minor interactions.

So, what do you think about this?

I know it wouldn't be a big deal for players who don't spend much time in their base, but for others, it could certainly be a nice thing. :-)
