Most action adventures have illusion of choice in interactions and sometimes dualistic choices.. none if that is core RPG exclusive... adventure have that as well

WTF is NBA? Like, NBA 2k26? You know what, don't answer that, nothing I said touched stats or character creation -and if you bothered to read anything I posted prior you'll see I have already insisted those are neither intrinsic nor necessary to an RPG

And obviously if I say a game is not an RPG unless choices result in differences of outcomes then bringing up others game with an illusion of choice will have no relevance either.

You sound like you are arguing for your own amusement at this point.

No but they are also often attributed (pun intended) to RPG genre and arguments of when a game is an RPG.
As I said, that sports game (that is what it is) does have dialogue where your choice change the outcome, hence my point.

Action Adventures have agency sometimes as well, sometimes its fixed dualistic (like this game will be in many scenarios) sometimes its fake agency, where you have lots of chocies, that change dialogue, but ultimately leads to the same crosspoints anyway.


This game is and never will be an RPG. But since it is an Action Adventure, it will have crossover elements due to the Adventure and the fact modern games often blend/mix elements in.

But if we take people´s argument for what an RPG is, then 85% of all games are RPGs.. In my opinion, games should not be labeled an RPG unless the core of the game is based around RPG features and Mechanics.

That does not have to be a contradiction.
You can have a lower skill entry and still have a high ceiling.

If you want more players, lowering or streamlining barriers of entry can be a key step to achieve that.
Thise players who stay due to enjoyment eventually get into the more complex aspects of the game.
Most games do aim for the "easy to get it, hard to master" approach.

Missile ammunition wouldn't be the right choice, and there are only four types; there wasn't a fifth.

Torpedos might not use ammunition because, unlike missiles, they can't always be used due to their low speed and the fact that they fly in a different direction when dropped, and only on high speed more speed have. Furthermore, slight drift can cause the torpedo to be dropped sideways instead of straight ahead.
