70$ Digimon vs 70$ Pokemon, Who will win in terms of quality and gameplay?

One is a RPG with PLANNED and likely already finished DLC cut out of the game.
Being repackage by bandai to make more money off suckers. I'll likely have to wait for a sale.

This is clearly your assumption based on no evidence that the DLC of Time Stranger is/might already finished and cut from the game

The 3 DLC being mostly if not fully planned out already is likely though
it is just that normally the actual game development for such DLC starts after the game is launched
so assuming otherwise tends to look silly (if you do so with no evidence)

also
Bandai Namco likes to add cosmetic DLC like extra outfits and music from past entries in the series for their games
But those DLC outifts would not have been made at all if it would not have been sold as DLC so that means it can not be considered as "cut content to be sold to us instead" either

If your going for 70$ don't do this. Either 70$ and no dlc micro transactions vs or don't be 70$.
while I do understand the point you are making
This is kinda funny as the wording implies you would not mind a game of $80 or higher to have micro transactions / DLC

The other is a mediocre low effort shallow shadow of its former self franchise that the devs working on it clearly would rather be doing ANYTHING else that's not a pokemon game. (Like seriously get a different dev team and give game freak a break.)

Pokémon Legends series plays different enough from main-line pokemon games
so besides from creature design the development might not look all that similar
But of course I can not know that for sure

The Developer does seem to be branching out a bit more recently like with "Beast of Reincarnation" but they might not be using the same Dev team as Pokemon though

What will happen
Pokemon will out sell Digimon because pokemon fans will spend 500$ on plastic cardboard cut outs of pokemon.

Pokemon is basically the number 1 franchise in the world so it selling more than Digimon is a foregone conclusion regardless if some fans buy Pokemon cards from resellers at ludicrous prices
Also Digimon has a card game as well that has some expensive cards that people buy without blinking an eye :P
(I am assuming you are talking about the card game by saying "plastic cardboard")

And bandai will think that Digimon isn't popular rather then ever self reflecting on there own greedy practices.
Bandai is not really competing with Pokemon to begin with though so they would not think that

And one might be more correct in calling them greedy if Bandai Namco would use micro transactions in a greedy way
but all their DLC can only be bought once
even stuff like "the Adventure Item Set" that give in-game health items/ other small items that you can already just buy in-game
if they really were greedy they make that stuff re-purchasable but they do not really do that

If i remember right, playstation 5 currently has a higher pop than steam because less performance related issues.
There are also more than just "ohh only 16,000 people are playing right now according to steam charts" because that's not even accurate in how many have actually played recently.

So the average peak player count since this quests release is 37,264 players with the average low being ~12,000 - ~14,000 with an outlier low of 1,611 on Tuesday (steam maintenance possibly?)

Giving an average of lets say 4 daily hours of play time per person this could potentially lead to a unique player count between 80,000 - 120,000 just for steam.
Now, lets just say that console has only 20% more total daily unique players. (ps5 alone likely has more daily however, xbox is likely similar to steam numbers but I'm estimating on the low end.)

This puts the total to around 176,000 - 264,000 unique players per day. This quest has been going on for just over 2 days. lets say 50% of the players are daily returning during these last two days. That puts the total potential unique players (low end estimate) of roughly 400,000 unique players.

On the current leader boards, we can rule out about 1/3 of all times from blatant cheaters and stealth cheaters (these likely wont get banned from leaderboards sadly). This would reduce the current legitimate A ranks on the leader board to ~26,667. We can reduce this number further as a large number of players use the helpers instead of other players. So lets just knock off 20% to give the community a estimate on this one. This puts it to roughly 21,334 A ranks. Which is currently 5% of the potential unique players over the past two days during the work week.

Ill give another low estimate of like 1.5 million total unique players playing over the duration of this quest with a "unlikely" full leader board of 50,000 unique A ranks. (balanced out by hunters both using and not using helpers and 0 repeats of hunters)
That would give 3% - 4% (off leader board A ranks) of hunters getting this.

Realistically, there will be less than that of legitimate A ranks though.
Not realistically, everything you saying is theoretically, you just increasing the numbers based on nothing.
It's already insane that you truly believe we have 400k unique players, but believing the game has 1.5m unique players, and on top of that they all are going to even try any challenge is borderline delusion, especially when we didn't had those number not even in the first challenge.
But to just humor you let's pretend that we actually have 1.5m unique players doing the challenge, this is the number you can easily reach players that played the game and quit after the story, so yeah no ♥♥♥♥ they not being able to get rank S. Not including players that are already banned from the challenges.

Also, 1/3 of the leader board would be more than 300 players, and i assure you there's not this many cheaters on the leader board anymore.
And the leader board is also not 50k players, it never was.

It's easy to say almost no one can complete the challenge while exponentially increasing the numbers out of nowhere without anything to back up.
You know what? I actually believe we have 100m unique players estimating it on low, and it's not 1% it's more like 0.000000000000000000000000000000000001% of players clearing it. How can i back this up? Idk, the voice in my head are telling me the numbers i guess. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
There are 4 leaderboards of 10000 places, 3 of which can have more than one person. I guess you dont look at data thats right in front of your face do you, so at this point, anything you say is moot.

Also thats not an increase based on nothing. thats 15% of the total games purchases possibly playing over a 2 week period, which is actually more on the low end of estimates by the way. Also there are a LOT of cheaters still, many of which wont be caught because they post times that are with in a good players range.
