Playing with europe-america the issue which might happen is delay input over people using wifi instead of ethernet cable.

If it helps, you can turn down the 'population cap' in the 'game' settings. There's three different caps and you can change them all at any time. Really good while you're getting the hang of things!

I'm a pretty decent player. It took me loads of practice though and complex understanding of what you're supposed to do in the game. How to effectively use a tank, use cover, knowing when it's time to leg it and sprint vs being cautious and observant. Flowing with the team but also pushing the lead if the blue dots on the minimap grow stagnant. Minimap is very important.

I'm gonna second smoke grenades being a very valuable utility. Support is a very solid class. If you're playing engineer, try to always be near vehicles and don't let your rockets go to waste. If you gotta waste them launching them into walls because you're about to die if you have to.

There are so many things it wouldn't be possible to cover them all in a post. Time and practice would get you there.

Generally speaking, majority of mods disable achievements as they are intended to be acquired pure. With this game so classic, many people coming in now get mods at the beginning to bring it up to their standards. Other historic players go those achievements on the original version which do not copy over to this one.

Why people are not trying to complete all achievements and why they don't have basic ones is practically the same answer. They don't care about them so have either purposefully disable the achievements or don't care to add in a mod to re-enable them after their mod pack disabled them.

The reverse question, why are you so interested in what people have done or achieved in their single player game?
