If they are worth their daily money? that... I doubt. But at least there is one place less I must pay attentiion to (the ticket booth) in between mopping, collecting rubbish, rescuing peaple and hammering and buying stuff and selling Hot Dogs and Lemonade.

The game scratches dangerously close on "tenious and annoying" in its current state, if you ask me, and hireing guys that eat away a lot of your daily income without adding much value to it, slows down the progress even more.

That last paragraph is what it feels like.
I found out about the game from Gassy Mexican's video from 2 days ago.
While he's playing it *really badly*, the amount of utter insane busywork is overwhelming.

And this is from a long time hardcore gamer with a wide range of interests, *and* someone with the most severe form of ADHD (Combined type) who also has a strong ability to multi-task and multi-focus (ironic, I know). Even to me, this just screams, "okay, too ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ much".
I can't imagine what kind of playtesters the developer has if this is how it was assumed things were fine.
Saw new patch notes dialed back some of the "basic" busywork like repairing and whatever but it's in every single part of the design right now.

Why does it take 5 very slow ticks with the mop to clean up one puddle when guests leave literal dozens - plural - a day?
Genuinely, I'm interested in the game, but you *MUST* dial back the amount of ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥.
Absolutely obscene right now.
Quick note to add here , because it sounds you don't have the game so you might not know this.
There is a research table and most tools have improved versions (some multiple)
Of course having said this and with us in Early Acess it doens't mean we can't and won't optmize things (in fact we have already done some since launch if you check the patch logs)

This was just the way games were back then 🤷♂

This is hilarious. No it wasn't. I played this game obsessively for years and it worked like a dream. Easy, intuitive controls and good graphics for the time. I played DK until I no longer owned a computer with a disc drive, and it worked leaps and bounds better than this version.

I played this version "successfully" exactly once, but the mouse had so much drift I couldn't play the regular campaign because it was impossible to click where I needed to quickly once the heroes attack. Second day I've had it, and now when I start it up it goes through the intro at full volume (which doesn't respond to adjustment for some reason), and then opens up an all black screen with a frozen hand cursor at the top. I can hear the effects of the Start menu, but can't move the cursor at all. Everything frozenand the only thing I've found to fix that is to Ctrl-Alt-Del and open task manager so it opens a new window and minimizes the DK screen so I can stop it in Steam it. Maybe these aren't bugs as you would describe them, but I feel like I shouldn't have to go into the code of a game I bought and alter it line by line to possibly make it work properly. I am really disappointed in this purchase, I was really excited to play DK again.

Thanks - I stumbled across this while looking at my WFTO page and looking into it started getting excited. Experience taught me to research and your post pretty much sums up the reality. Turn off the excitement. Accept the fact. This is not the DK2 I knew and loved. Plus EA has been on my sh*t list for several years now and I can't give them a single penny with a clean conscience.

My real fps is still a locked 60 but with smooth motion its 120 at 4K all Ultra.

That tells me the game is capping me at 60 and trying to drop the excess frames though my card can exceed it easily or my real fps would drop 60 even on the steam counter when enabling smooth motion much like how built in frame gen x4 lowers base fps some to out put more using the built in vectors. My real fps drops to 80-90 in Gray Zone Warfare all max settings with DLSS4 Transformer model forced on but FG gives me 300-340 fps where as on native at those settings I would be higher than a base 90 fps.

Steam FPS counter used to have issues displaying real frame vs frame gen and the FG drops to your base fps but the beta steam builds have this displaying very accurately for a while now.

For context I'm on a 9800X3D delided and OC with a 5090 Astral in a waterblock and 64GB DDR5 at 6000mhz CL26 which is recommended sweet spot for AMD all on a custom cooling solution with external MORA radiator and multiple pumps.
My PC is similar, 5090 and 9800X3D, so my frames are locked 60 at 4K with ultra settings as well. I just found that the locked 60 didn't feel nice on M&K for me and I didn't see any other posts mentioning how to enable smooth motion, so I tinkered and figured out how. I decided to make a post in case it helped others that had a similar issue to me. Albeit, I also understand that people like us with 5090 and such are the exception rather than the rule in many cases.
