TFD isn’t a looter shooter… it’s a gacha game in a looter shooter cosplay

The drops aren’t just “low RNG,” they’re RNG stacked inside RNG, padded with crafting cooldowns to drag it out even more.[/b] Here’s what it actually takes to fully merge the Restored Relic 5 times. [/b]

---

What you need for ONE gun
Each gun needs 4 unique parts:
* Restored Relic Polymer Syncytium
* Restored Relic Synthetic Fiber
* Restored Relic Nano Tube
* Restored Relic Blueprint

You need 5 copies of each part to craft 5 copies of the gun, so you can merge them into one maxed version.

How the drops actually work
The drop tables look like “20% chance for the thing” in the UI, but that’s a half-truth. Most items are locked inside Amorphous Materials, and those have their own drop rate… then the part you want has its own drop rate inside the box.

So the real odds are:
Chance to drop the box × chance your part is inside it (sometimes with a small bonus chance for a second box).

Here’s the per-run breakdown:

* Polymer Syncytium BP:
- Box: 20% chance
- Inside chance: 6%
- Bonus second box chance: 5–20%
- Effective drop: ~1.26–1.44% per run (~1 in 70–80 runs)

* Synthetic Fiber:
- Box: 25% chance
- Inside chance: 32%
- Effective drop: 8% per run (~1 in 12.5 runs)

* Nano Tube:
- Box: 25% chance
- Inside chance: 10%
- Effective drop: 2.5% per run (~1 in 40 runs)

* Blueprint:
- First box: 5–20% chance
- Second box (Sharen, no stealth): flat 20% chance
- Inside chance: 6%
- Effective drop: ~1.5–2.4% per run (~1 in 42–66 runs)

---

How many runs that actually means
To get 5 of each part on average, you’re looking at:

* Polymer: ~347–397 runs
* Fiber: ~63 runs
* Nano Tube: ~200 runs
* Blueprint: ~208–333 runs

That’s 818–993 runs total just for ONE weapon to be fully merged. And because these are on different missions, you’re not progressing all parts at once — you’re stuck farming each one separately.

---

The “time gate” cherry on top
Even if you somehow no-life this and get all the parts instantly, crafting is its own wall:
* Each of the 3 parts takes 4 hours to craft (parallel possible, but you can’t queue multiples of the same part).
* The gun takes 4 hours to craft (can’t queue multiples).

If you run it optimally, the absolute minimum time to craft all 5 guns is 24 real-world hours after farming.

---

Let’s talk hours
Valgus Outpost missions now have a 20-second cooldown, so even though the clears can be insanely fast (5 seconds with Freyna AoE nuking everything, ~20–30 seconds with Sharen for stealth/objective routes), you can’t spam them endlessly.

For farming time:

* If you’re running Freyna and just blasting through kills:
Mid-case RNG: ~889 runs × 25s average (5s run + ~20s cooldown) = ~6.2 hours of actual farming time
Plus 24h crafting = ~30 total hours for one gun

* If you’re running Sharen on stealth/objective missions (20–30s average run + cooldown):
Mid-case RNG: ~889 runs × 35s average = ~8.6 hours farming
Plus 24h crafting = ~32.6 total hours for one gun

---

Why this feels like gacha
In a normal looter shooter like Warframe or Destiny, you might have bad RNG on a drop, but at least you can see and directly farm the part you need — there’s no “loot box inside a loot box” garbage.

In TFD, you’re not farming a weapon. You’re farming a random box that might contain a random blueprint that might be the one you want. The UI telling you “20% chance” is misleading when the real per-run odds are 1–2%.

That’s not a looter shooter.
That’s gacha mechanics with extra steps.

If Nexon wants people to engage long-term, fine but be honest about drop rates and stop stacking RNG layers like this. As it stands, getting one maxed weapon in this game is the equivalent of pulling for a 5-star character in a gacha game, five times in a row.

I mean, that's why they have the target system in the first place and shape stabilizers. Also, with the frequency that they give out Ultimate Weapon boxes that just give you the gun they're not hard to acquire.

In theory? Maybe. In practical? No.
