cover is simplified cause of huge battle, they dont want the micromanaging from dow2 for that, but its still work in progress(in the interview they were open for the automatic terrain covermechanic). they want player feedback, so are thinking about their options currently(betas and so on). yeah the cover system being a simplified version of DoW2 is great news to me, because this game is on a way bigger scale of battle than DoW2, so micromanaging those covers would be a massive pain in the ass even for micro gods tbh
