IF you have no other (worthwhile/not resource heavy) way to obtain advantage for a heavy hitter (paladin, rogue) then instead of doing a cantrip for 1d10 (5 damage on average), you can give your rogue a great chance at sneak attack, or another shot at a smite for the paladin.

It’s not a good cantrip. But it’s not totally useless. If I had a non-attuned gizmo of cast this crap , I’d use it very occasionally. But for me annoying bee, chill touch, shocking grasp are the wizards trifecta, rounded out with fire bolt and sparkle. I wouldn’t change true strike for any of those. Funnily enough I can see a Druid using this without any real opportunity cost when he’s concentrating on spikes/etc. They have remarkably few good offensive non concentration spells.

How's it gonna help a paladin? It grants the *caster* advantage. Even if they had the spell (or some subclass grants it or they multiclass), it's still worse than spending two turns attacking. It's also not on the druid spell list.

And rogues really don't have a hard time generating sneak attacks. I guess a Shadowcaster rogue could cast True Strike, swap weapons so they can use their bonus action to sneak attack, but that sounds a lot worse than using the bonus action to sneak or dash to get a sneak attack. It's a useless spell.

yeah kind of. sometimes i peek into caseohs discord and because there are a few thousand people speaking at any given time, most peoples just speak to themselves by throwing a message out into the ether. it is hard to have meaningful, one on one conversation in such a chaotic environment.
