This is a very fascinating point. I think that based on what is evident about husk biology, that the ability of a host to produce a child is definitely affected. Feral husks grown in human hosts often contain husk eggs, and while symbiosis appears to preserve the mental faculties of the host, the body is still clearly modified in many of the same ways as a feral husk.

Regardless of how the cult wants to label it, symbiosis is not the transformation of 2 organisms into 1. Husks and humans, even symbiotic ones, still need to reproduce separately as they are still 2 organisms, even though they are closely intertwined. The only possible way that they could reproduce together is if the husk alters human biology to be pseudo-asexual, where humans no longer reproduce with other humans, but instead combine their DNA and the DNA of their symbiotic husk within themselves. This would produce truly united organisms that are both human and husk in origin, and yet are a single creature. Which does sound like the ultimate goal of the cult.

However, there is not much in game to suggest this has been achieved or is even possible. We haven't seen any cultists discuss this, we haven't seen actual instances of these half human half husks. Because of this, I'd bet that the human reproductive system is either functional to some degree and makes baby humans the same way (minus some hiccups caused by the parasite affecting the pregnancy), or the human reproductive system is functionally repurposed by the parasite and can only produce husk eggs.

It's also worth noting that, as far as I'm aware, husk-human hybrids isn't what the cult wants. They allow your crew to be husk-human hybrids if you're useful enough to them that it serves their interests to do so, but what they want from mankind as a whole are regular husks. Loss of independent thought is a feature, not a bug.

You are the problem. You get lucky and are placed on the dominating team, and people like you are why Bungie won't remove the worst gamemode they've ever made

Weeeeellllll, that'd be a 24/7/365 double-overtime mission for sure; the copters don't breed anywhere near as fast as those durn hawgs.

It would be fun to have skills of a zombie. :)
1. No tiredness, no emotional baggage like fear, no pain feel, no sleep need.
2. Sleigh of brute hands - when banging on a door, you have almost 100% to recover the door parts upon destruction.
3. Undead ninja hands - while banging on a door or windows you have chance to open locked ones
4. Herd familiarity - Other zombies would leave you alone, till you start to attack them.

But of course, many downsides.
1. Slow. Just shamble.
2. Can't drive car.
3. Can't use tools or weapons.
4. Can't craft
5. Eternal hunger - must chase wild animals to feed upon

Imagine the stories with this one. :D

Pretty sure the studio liquidated and stopped working on this yes, quite some years back.

I'm having the fatal error problem too. It only happens when I try to start a new game (single-player).

I have two save games, but I can't delete them?
In one, the message "Survived 2 days" appears immediately after loading, while in the other, I can load (although I'm already on day 2). Could the save games be causing the problem?

Hmmm sorry to hear that. games not being deleted is a problem but only in the main menu i believe, you can delete them once you are in-game. Has anything happened since you made these 2 saves? update anything? fatal error is 95% of the time a bad driver
