Ah, lucky I've just seen this post so it's not just me...... as I have the same issue and been checking dependant mod versions and load orders for the past day.
I'll check back and see if there is a solution........thanks

And point #2 is what I wrote previously - Steam doesn't list the game name on the invoice, just a transaction number and that it's a Steam purchase + you can purchase games as "hidden". So... where's the higher-than-normal chargeback risk here?

MCCs aren't just assigned top-level to an entire business.
They can be split-assigned by section or department.

It's not inconceivable that 18+ material on Steam was given its own MCC.

But you can buy multile items in one payment. I'm almost (keyword!) certain what you write about wouldn't apply here.

Yeah it took me a long time to figure that out too; I have a billion of those pendants now lol

Community testers aren't using an internal dev-build. Steam has branches that can be locked behind passwords for things like this. Also, Farthest Frontier did exactly this and there's been many others over the years.

Others doing that pre-release, not post-release ^^

Privacy concerns are so weird to me in 2025, considering our goverments known neigh everything about us at this point. They monitor your every move on the internet, not all of a sudden when denovo is involved it becomes mandatory to be aware of your internet privacy. Could you explain why your reasoning of avoiding denuvo and how it's different from everything else you're doing? I know it causes performance issues sometimes so I understand that, but the privacy side I really don't. I don't mean no offense.

No worries. I was on MSpace, name and photo and fambly and everything, decades ago so this ship has sailed for me. It's more perfunctory at this point; rote. Still helps instill the ideas in younger generations but beyond that I hold few illusions about much good it does.

Folks I know are swapping apps every other year because some aspect of corporate behavior, oh no WhatsApp is suddenly doing xyz but Signal doesn't! Great. Like that'll help.

And of course I still buy these games for the kids on christmas.

No matter what I do I'll be on 100 cameras and microphones on every street corner.

But you lose 100% of the issues you concede.
