Agreed, this should just be a feature, because you can effectively do it anyway.

It doesn't diminish the rogue-like nature of the game because you still don't control the order of the Kings you fight or the cards you get. It would alleviate two of the core issues of the game, that is, a) more consistently being able to make the specific build you want to make with your King and perk choices, and b) just more consistently being able to get started on a run regardless of if you have an intended build or not.

(Then there's c) being able to avoid certain Kings or rather specific units that scale obnoxiously in the current balance of the game, but even if the game was perfectly balanced, a) and b) would still hold true)

I am honest and say it out loud - the screenshots make me salty . Not, because I don't like the idea/concept, but since there is no official lore on the fractions out yet. Thus, a few early development screenshots are the usual basis for further speculations on lore and the game in total.

Still waiting for something that resembles END GAME CONTENT.
There are no chase items. Nothing to drive a player to keep playing.
Just the same over and over and over and over and over.....

Balance Changes to Socializing seemed to just cut the damage my character deals in half, that's not balance. Battles taking 2-3 turns before using Charm trait vs lv22 opponent now take 14-17 turns. This is definitely not balance. It shifts Charm school to trash tier and knowledge to top tier.

Better Item Management and New Item Filter button seem useless. If you have a giant pile of items that's a mess and you can't drag what you want to make a build, clicking the backpack icon, just shows what you have, you can't build from that menu, close the backpack and you're back to a pile of mess.

Merging info is a much needed addition, however, the fact you need items from different traits is odd.
