I don't know why a guide would say that, since there is no specific time system in the game. Perhaps there was at some point in the game's development, however.

In any case, 5AM is generally an hour or two before sunrise if you're in the temperate zone of a planet, and that is reflected in the game. BUT, the temperature in the game, as on real planets, will be different depending on where you are on the planet. Generally, it will be warmest at the equator and will get progressively cooler as you move toward either pole.

It's been a long, long time since I played vanilla, but generally speaking to survive for long on hot planets/moons like Skillon, you're going to need appropriate armor boosters, specifically the "insulation" one, which in vanilla will expand both your comfortable hot temperature and cold temperature ranges. (In the RE2 scenario I play, there's a separate one for cooling and heating, as well as higher-level boost that will give you expanded protection.) You'll also want to bring water and other foods/beverages that will cool your body temperature, which you should keep an eye on when you're outside. If you start on Skillon, creating an airtight environment by building a base or a vessel should be top priority. Airtight environments maintain a constant comfortable temperature.
