no, what they need to do is make the maps BIGGER and more cover

They do not "retain their identity". Anything that requires a specific manual needs the original unaltered manual.
An External wants a specific Internal? You need the original Internal.
An event asks for a specific manual? You need the original manual.

This game looks at a manual's ID when checking those types of things, and making a new manual makes a new martial art with its own Id. Which is why you can learn 9 of the same 2 combinations since each one is its own martial art with its own Id, name, effects, and description.

There's a few posts about this, though its often deeper in those discussions.
