Depends on the performance of the player. I think you pulled the 500 matches out of a dark backside place.

That being said - BR5 is not be all end all. Lower BRs have plenty of charms and some really classic gear. If you are not enjoying the lower BRs and think the BR5 is gona make it easier - let me tell you it wont.

Beside that I cant really agree with pay-to-win. There are exactly two items that I would classify as "pay-to-win". The Paratrooper squad and the APC's. And APC's are slightly better than the basic once, as they have weapons and a bit more armor in some cases. But you still wont really use them as front line units. The Paratroopers are just flatout great and the only item i truly agree is pay to win.
Outside of this two items - every research item is better.

The one thing i think they should change however is the squad slots available for free to play people. Right now its too limited forcing this players to chose if they want to bring a tank or a plane.

The armoured APCs are totally worth it, during the sales you can easily buy them for less than 15$. But why do you call the paratrooper squad P2W ? Everyone can buy them, and even free versions from events exist from them.

Once, because I tried to run for it in the beggining and rode on a bike to Sheol =)

And another one because my scout orni stuck in sand all of a sudden.
