There is islands with over 100k population, running on nothing but contracts, so its possible.

How? Recycling cuts down the cost of maintenance, research and town goods, by a lot. Efficiently talking around 75% with all the investments (Edict + Office Focus + Research). Cant look at just the recycling %, as you dont get everything back as recyclables.

As for the contracts them self, you need to take into account your entire island's production. If you are already making Household goods for the town, adding another machine or two, might be cheaper then setting up Vehicle Parts 3 for coal. (VP2 is Crude Oil).

Or you can spend your Fuel Gas and/or Hydrogen to make Cement at 0 Coal cost, but it means you import more Crude Oil or get them another way (excess from other production).

Meaning what seems expensive or lopsided, might be a good trade when you take the entire island into account.

As for Unity cost. Yes, its the main limit of how far an island can grow, but we now has a way to generate infinite Unity, with Rockets: 1 rocket launched is 1 unity for 12 months. Plus asteroids you find and send to your island, is resources that dont require ships, further cutting your contract Unity amount.

DEX monk without tavern brawler and chugging strength potions is viable. Its on a par with many other classes, a decent build. A STR monk with tavern brawler is a very viable build, although you will lose out on some AC. A DEX monk who chugs STR potions with Tavern Brawler is a OP killing machine.

So basically decide whether you want to be a cheese monkey or not.
