Yes, it should be the same as the physical game. If you are crafting an item that requires another item, you can either use the existing item OR spend its resources in order to satisfy it. That allows for the case when both of the prerequisite items are already owned by another player.

Bone boots require #18 (rough boots) + 1 corpsecap. Rough boots require #5 (crude boots) + 1 hide. Crude boots require 2 hide. So the total cost of bone boots without already owning any prerequisite items should be 3 hide + 1 corpsecap.

Which is literally what we've been crying for, for the past 10 odd years, a battlefield 3/4 just modernized .

You don't need the electronics for that - but you do need the wreck (which is not always a car).

Sometimes the game decides to troll you and makes the wreck just a car frame, though.

The best I have seen thus far was a Box Truck (just once so far), the back stocked like the ones you find out in the field. Fuel Truck once. Car frames a few times.

I've started a (first time) Mechanic's Road Trip (currently at Stabilizing a Way Through) - and I'm curious to see if the mix of shop-wrecks is the same or different.
